I don’t know if your argument is entirely accurate but I’ll give you this I have always worried about the Bama - Miss State every season since 1992. State usually plays their best and the last conference game before the Iron Bowl. I’d be surprised at a Bama football loss to State. It’s too bad State doesn’t play as hard against AU and LSU as they do in late November.

LSU is a different story but Auburn has been a competitive series for quite a while now. And out of the 3 teams we're discussing here it's easily the team MSU competes the best with. Some of the weirdest games in college football I've ever seen involve Auburn and Mississippi State.

I am indeed different from the average State fan. I'm wanting State to win SEC Titles. The barometer is the best teams in the country, not Ole Miss and that's why I'm not going to celebrate beating a terrible Ole Miss team and act like 2018 was a great season.

That was a double digit win MSU team and MSU will not have that opportunity for quite some time.

John Cohen simply made the incorrect hire.

And this season isn't going to be any better. Tommy Stevens isn't coming so he's not going to be some miracle worker.

It was poor execution by the players. We were 3 routine plays from a 10 win season. Dan Mullen left the cupboard bare many times recruiting on offense. his side of the fricken ball. He is lucky the state has been loaded with defensive talent because had it not we'd been a 4-7 teams multiple times under him

While MSU has the dumbest offensive coach in America, the defense the past 2 seasons is the reason why MSU had a chance to beat Alabama these past two seasons(and yes they had a "shot" this season, it's just that Moorhead is an idiot).

This sounds familiar...

The only thing bare was wr depth. There was minimal to no issue with RBs, QBs, and OL the previous year and the same guys essienally returned.

And yes State under Mullen recruited very well defensively
If anyone should be lucky it's Moorhead for inheriting that talent roster. But instead he wasted it.

And btw we had the worst defense I can remember State ever having and still ended up in a bowl. Mullens offense hardly ever missed a beat here.

ETA: I see you're blaming the players for the coaches stupidity. That's fine. The players can't make us run the ball when we should. I guess it is all Nick's Fault right? We'll get a chance to see if it is since KT will be starting.

How many first year coaches have had shitty first seasons? How many have won at least 8 in year one? How about you wait until at least until the first 2 games before spouting off about a new coach..

If you come in claiming "championship standard" "what's your ring size" and you can't even beat Iowa with the #1 defense in the country, I don't need 2 years to see.

We have given the softball coach 8 years and she isn't doing anything different year 8 as she has in year 1

I think State fans need to give the man more than a year before you want him fired and call him a failure. Dabo went 6-7 in year three and people were calling for his head. Now people naming their kids after him. Give the man time

Folks, Alabama beat Cow Bell U 24-0 last year. Apparently that qualifies as "almost" winning.
Bama has beaten MSU 11 straight years.
This thread is an Epic Fail.

Well it is. Mississippi States barometer isn't Ole Miss. It's the SEC. And last season isn't worth celebrating. It's a wake-up call to our current predicament

Bro our coach invent, repped, and called a full back twirl-action run play in SEC football. You know nothing of dumbest offensive coach sir. Think about it,. He literally had the ball carrier turn his back on purpose turn around then run straight ahead.

Also our coach then installed a play action pass of said full back twirl action dive and called it with the game on the line of the Iron Bowl.

I saw plenty of things I didn't like in year one, the worst being the bowl performance by the qb. Other than that, I can attribute most of these things to schematic change, qb confusion, and very poor passing game performance on the field. Year two is essentially, year one, being all of these issues have been illustrated with great concern, and daily routines are no longer like orientation for veteran players.

Well I only saw your bowl game this year, and if I was a State fan I would be a little down about that, so I can’t judge his coaching. I’m just saying I would give the man a little time.

It's hilarious that a Miss State fan has as his username "The Winner"
That is the last username a State fan should be using.

There were other land grants outside of Miss state. They all were set up in a similar way.

Kentucky isn’t where he lost me. They were really good and we were on the road.

Losing to UF at home in the biggest game of the year to our fans is where he lost me
