Headed up to Starkville this weekend and was curious if y’all had any recommendations on what to do? Especially gameday parking spots and where to eat/grab a beer before and after the game!

The lack of responses is making me nervous about starkville

I would definitely take some time to visit the The Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana in the campus library. The museum documents the life and times of Abraham Lincoln. The Collection complements Civil War-related materials in the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library and Mississippi State University Libraries Special Collections.
For food, eat local. You can't go wrong with Little Dooey's (Catfish or Texas Toast BBQ), The Veranda, Restaurant Tyler (Get the Porkchop), Mugshots, Bulldog Burger (New Favorite spot), Two Brother's smoked meats (Wings), Dave's Darkhorse Tavern (Lamb Pizza), Starkville Cafe (Breakfast). The CampHouse has a really good oyster poboy with leidenheimer bread. Owner was telling me that they have Oysters shipped up from south of Houma if you are feeling seafood while in town.
The cotton district has a bunch of patio style bars that are really fun for day drinking. Downtown night life is pretty meh. They have a Moe's that can be fun, but most of the good times are in the Cotton District. Bin 612 is a good time and usually a post grad crowd. Frank Foster is playing at Rick's on 10/18 (The Friday night before the game). Fun venue for all fans.
Tailgating is all right outside of the stadium in the Junction. It's a lot like the Parade Grounds at LSU, but more condensed. Put your beer in a cup to avoid any BS from our police. The Dawg Walk is a pretty cool experience. Your best best is going right into the heart of the Junction. People in Starkville are friendly just like the people in Baton Rouge. Fraternize with some State folks and you will be invited into someone's tailgate in no time. If you are sneaking liquor in the game, put it in your waistband. I've seen gaurds on occasion check boots.
If you like to play Golf there are two courses in West Point, Mississippi which house two of the nicest courses in the state. Old Waverly and Mossy Oak. Mississippi State also has a very well kept university course that is affordable for those on a tighter budget.
Tickets really shouldn't be that hard to come by. Parking however, will be a nightmare if you don't get there early enough. It's not as bad as LSU's situation, but it's very scattered and not very organized. Your best bet for free parking is just driving around until you see an open spot off the highway.
Posted this months back. Though it might help.

I like parking on the side of HWY 12, or as you come onto campus off of hwy 12 from town. There is a pay parking lot. There are several bars in the cotton district.

Watch from Baton Rouge

Another option for parking is to park downtown and ride the shuttle in. Shuttle service runs every 15 minutes beginning 3 hours before gametime until 2 hours after the game.
Dagger's food recommendations are on point.
The U.S. Grant Presidential Library is a cool place to waste an hour before gametime. If you have a way to store it, picking up some cheese from the MSU Dairy is unique. Its really some of the finest cheese you will ever have. If you have kids, they have good ice cream in the MSU Dairy as well.

The city is called "Starkville". What did you expect?

Eat at two brothers bbq in the cotton district. It’s pretty fricking good but a very small location. They are building a new one right across from bin 612 and it’s two stories with a balcony. Going to be awesome when/if it’s done

I was wondering what they were building in that location. Hopefully they can finish it up pretty soon.
Also to OP, Rosey Baby has some good cajun seafood and a great selection of beers.

I recommend Stromboli's if you can get a table

There's a dive pizza joint that's really good. Stromboli's I think?

You may be referring to Dave's Dark Horse Tavern, which is a dive bar off Old Highway 82 (i.e., Hwy 182). It's got the best pizza in town. They also have solid wings and a legit lamb gyro. Everything is made in-house.
It's a grungy, dimly-lit bar with old brick walls on the interior and pool tables in the back. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't be swayed by its facade. Dave's is my favorite bar in Starkville.

Stromboli's is good, but some people are partial to the doughy pizza. I've always favored Dave's over it, but can't go wrong with either one.

Why would you want to go to a place littered with beta males, hicks, lardasses, and cucks? It’s a nasty, nasty place.
Good one. Sick burn. When did you go to Starkville?

There’s a phenomenal restaurant in Starkvegas called King’s. They have their own butcher shop, and everything in that place is delicious. Bulldog Burger makes a great burger and is reasonably priced. Bin 612 is a cool spot for day drinking. For breakfast, go to the Starkville Cafe.
I went to Starkville for the first time a couple of months ago and really like their laid-back vibe. The people are friendly, too. It is nothing like a game day in Baton Rouge. The only thing those two places have in common is friendly people. Both are good spots—but in totally different ways.
Enjoy your trip!

There is still paid parking south of campus near the vet school that always has space and the walk isn’t bad. Take a right at the light that’s directly south of stadium on blackjack rd

Starkville is a good place to go to a game. Better than Oxford imo.

This thread is about Starkville, not Columbia. Try to keep up.
