Mississippi State needs to Fire Dan Mullen.

I said this last year and I'll say it again this year, he got extremely lucky landing a once in a decade quarterback in Dak. I feel like Dan is riding the coattails of Dak and has been for some time. They both did great things together while at MSST, but I believe it's time for Mullen to find himself another town to live in. I think that State can find someone better and will find someone better. Mullen proved that you can win at Mississippi State, and I believe that with proper recruiting and good coaching MSST could actually consistently finish in the Top 3 of the West.

Look at where Mississippi State was when Dan arrived compared to where they are now. They were looked at as a rent a win, now they're at least competitive in most games they play.
What he's done with the recruits MSU gets in comparison to the other SECw teams recruits is impressive.
It's hard to recruit when your division consists of LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, $$, and Arkansas...

That's why I said an up and comer! I don't know who they could realistically get who is better at this moment but I think there is more interest in the MSST job than people give credit.

I think with it being an SECw school that has seen some high points over the last few years, they could make a solid hire.
Being any coach in the SECw helps you. They could probably get some big names guys that have fallen off a bit (Charlie Strong).. or I feel like a Willie Taggart type from USF would also take the job.

It could be looked at as a very solid situation really.
- If you win, the fans and administration love you and you're viewed as a top coach because you can win in the SECw.
- If you lose, you have an excuse in that you're at MSU competing against the LSUs and Alabamas. Hard to blame someone for losing when they're so overmatched.
