The Mississippi schools suck at cheating.

cheating on tests and giving players money and hookers is a wee bit different

All of that and State gets to play in the post season and Mizzou doesn't? The NCAA is a joke.

I would kick those players out of school to set a precedent for violating the honor code.

This is a much better situation than I thought. I figured it would be a lot more players and more starters involved. We’ll still go 7-5/8-4

Vacating wins is not a punishment. Seems like we got off pretty light for substantial academic fraud.

Football players has to sit out basically 8 games this year, basketball player (Nick Weatherspoon) has to sit out first 1/3 of the season at least this year.

Some scholarship reductions, recruiting restrictions as well. It's not just vacated wins.

I was just referencing one part of the punishment. I know vacating was not the only part.

Sanctions aren't nearly severe enough for this egregious of an infraction.

But, I guess just being Miss State in the first place is punishment enough, so maybe the NCAA felt sorry for them. I know I do.

True.

This came about 9 years too late anyways.

Karma for Cam Newton.

I don't understand how they don't get more flack for being snitches.

I mean, they literally tried to buy a player, failed, got butthurt when he chose an honest school, then went crying to the authorities essentially snitching on themselves to try and frame an innocent bystander

And by "literally" you must mean "in my own imagination."

Don’t forget Leo Lewis got immunity from the NCAA to snitch on OM (and in doing so, said he got paid $10k to go to state)

No, I mean literally the only thing ever proven and documented thing about the Newton case is that boosters associated with Mississippi State approached Cecil with their own scheme that they came up with to try and buy his son

It's really fricking sad that you idiots still can't admit to States involvement

Gotta be more than one to be a streak.

Looks like Ole Miss may no longer have a losing streak to Mississippi State.

Wonder what they'll have to vacate? A similar thing happened to FSU back in 07 and they had to vacate a whole bunch of stuff across damn near half their sports (including NCAA titles).

State the serial snitches

No wonder they take so many stitches on the field in the form of L's and outright beat downs
