as far as the concession areas that you can still see the field...
The more open walk area close by is a concession area as well as on the opposite end of the field. The opposite one is the little brick stand-alone building in the upper-center of the picture. then there are 2-3 concession areas underneath the main stands.

This isn't a flame, but how bad does it suck that RF is so far away from the fence?

I am talking about the open concourse that all new stadiums have now. If you guys decided to not include one but rebuilt, that is really dumb.
If I'm understanding you correctly, you're referring to the open area between the main seats and the suites right?
I guess to each his own....To me, that's a TON of empty, prime real estate. Hell of a lot of money could be made with seats right there.
If that's what you're referring to, then I understand that some programs want that in their stadium. I wouldn't call it dumb for not wanting it though. If that's what they want, then that's what they want....but I consider it dumb to waste area between the bases where you could sell higher priced seats.
We essentially have that open concourse...but we put it further down the baselines.

Not really. It's not like that little bit of space would make you see balls/strikes any better from out field.

I was more referring to the fact that you can be right up to the action. Do they restrict y'all from walking up to the fence?

They do. Other's might complain about it but I've never really complained. There really isn't much "right up to the action" when you're sitting in the outfield of any stadium IMHO.
I also think that now it's looked at by the officials as sort of a preventative thing so the students aren't close enough to throw a bunch of shite on the field.

8-4.
Mullen gets lifetime contract.

Never really thought about it. There's a road the grounds crew uses right there.
If the students were on top of the wall, they would probably get banned.

That's because they didn't rebuild. Pank just got yet another thing wrong in this thread that will end up requiring WiO to admit reality for him.
I'd also love to know what's different about Baum in comparison with Alex Box and Carolina stadium in design..
Swayze will be the 5th/6th best stadium in the west going forward only sufficiently ahead of Auburn. Can be nice all it wants, but it's built on an outdated design -- and facing 2 concession stands toward the field doesn't change that. Ole Miss and aTm made mistakes by renovating instead of building anew -- and that'll bare itself out over time. There's a reason all but about 4 mlb teams have built brand new stadiums in the last 15--20 years...

Did this turn into the generally friendly portion of all Egg Bowl threads yet?

I stayed out of it until the bitter end last night. I love to debate when there's a chance of changing an opinion or learning something new, but the only thing I've learned is Engie is as elite a dog as they come an only egg bowl wins (multiple in a row) can change his opinion on anything. It seemed like most of the thread was about facilities and recruiting advantages. Long story short, state is the recruiting power and they have the better facilities.

I guess it hasn't flipped into the friendly Egg Bowl portion yet.
Carry on.

Eh.
Ole Miss Engie Rankings
1) REBEL5 AC
2) whereisomaha
3) pankReb
Just my opinion.
AC is a big homer but I feel as if WIO is a little more objective most of the time.

You're still holding on to this even though there are structural differences in the stadium that I've pointed out?
