btw...I'm going to pull an engie real quick.
It should be easy to find a pic showing them ADDING on grandstands to the old stands that already existed(pending we're in the alternate reality that we didn't, in fact, tear down the old stands).

so you guys rebuilt your entire stadium in 2000?
No, it became Davis Wade Stadium in 2000.

No way you are this stupid.

Basic engineering and architecture is tough for OM fans to grasp -- I get that.
You can't show me a pic of the old stands torn down -- because they were never torn down. And it only takes a shred of common sense to see that in the fact that the "new" stands possess the exact same features as the old ones. Why would you bother tearing something down to "rebuild" the exact same thing in it's place?
Oh -- that's right -- you WOULDN'T. Hence why Swayze cost $18.5mil to expand -- instead of the $30+mil it costs to build anew.

Posted by pankReb I'd still 10 out of 10 times, rather beat LSU than MSU. I saw this for two reasons....It is 100% truth...and the other reason is it royally pisses off MSU fans for whatever reason.
It doesn't piss us off as much as it shows how pathetic some of you are that you have to beat LSU to feel relevant. I have no doubt that it comes from the very top in Oxford that come hell or high water y'all have to give everything to beat LSU. That gives you a sense of false importance. What you don't realize is LSU probably feels about y'all like y'all feel about us. But it's all part of that "doing anything to seek relevance" thing y'all do.

oh I see where your typical confusion came from this time around. We did rebuild(i.e. from the ground up) the original design of the main grandstands. Yes...it looks the same on those pics...but a few things....
The concession area was in a major need of overhaul.
There's an entire diamond-club that you're ignoring.
The press box was renovated and expanded(yes...you can do both) with an additional VIP suite expanded in the center of it.
More rows for Box seats than the original.
And then take into consideration your normal needs for upgrading the infrastructure of the building...all of this leads it to be more cost efficient and beneficial for the future to rebuild from scratch.
...should I go on? Or are you just going to keep basing your opinion off of an old 2005(?) EA Sports design of our stadium.
I mean hell....did you even look closely at the size of the sections? Let's look at the very center(behind home) section of both....The old one (section in red) is tiny...The new section is significantly wider. The press box barely even looks the same from that side.
Please...keep making yourself look stupid. It's carried this thread a few hundred posts. Typically does though so I guess you're meeting your quota.

or because who gives a shite what a stadium looks like when it's torn down? people generally only care about what it's going to look like when its finished.

no one is denying this at all. I'd recommend you not take too much of a homerun trot on this grand observation.

I went over this. The place was built in the 70's.

They used most of the old foundation....if that makes you feel any better.

I laughing right now at the thought that both of you are going to bed tonight extremely pissed off at each other and probably won't get any sleep because of it.

If they had torn down the grandstand, they would have a better grandstand.

Also, Pank, you keep saying that you would rather beat LSU than us. Well, no shite. So would I. Sure the dumbass portion of our fanbase doesn't feel that way. Most of us possess a brain that realizes that beating LSU is much more of a big deal than beating the team that we have owned as of late and doesn't normally finish the season ranked. No offense, of course.

Hardly. Just got back from a trip and I'm waiting on my clothes to finish drying. Them I'm likely passing out...

We didn't want to have a big change in how the grandstands looked from the field. We liked the design so we stuck with it but made some slight improvements.

I just finished about 12 fingers of whisky and saw an engie/pank thread and can't look away.

That's just not true. That is just retarded. You didn't just decide to rebuild your stadium without being able to view the game at the concession stand and walkways. You went the cheaper route. You added on and rennovated. It looks great, but it's not a modern designed stadium. It's a modernized, rennovated stadium.

None taken. And ftr, I never pegged you as one of the idiots who thought otherwise. Our fans threw a fit that Nutt kept losing to MSU. Yeah...that sucks..but you know what sucks a hell of a lot more than losing the Egg Bowl?
J'ville State
Louisiana Tech and their 17 year old QB.
Losing by 50 to both Bama and LSU.
etc...
All in the same year. At that point....who gives a flying dildo about the Egg Bowl. But it seems as if it took losing that game for some of our fans to completely turn on him.

We have concession stands on both the left and right field foul areas. Putting a concession stand that would make the field visible between the bases would do nothing more than take valuable seats away. And the concession stands underneath the main stands all have Rebelvision feeds going with the radio. So you aren't missing anything.
I'm not sure what you mean by "modern designed stadium". Same general concept of most other big time programs. Arkansas' is the only one that I would agree with saying it is both different and possibly better(in regards to individual suites going all the way down both foul lines). But Our stadium is just as modern as any other new SEC mega-stadium.
And yes...we rebuilt the thing. and yes...we rebuilt it with the same general design as Old Swayze.
ETA: if you look closely...you can tell the entire diamond club area is raised from where the top of Old swayze seats stopped. We added several rows of seats on top of the original ones that go along with the Diamond Club tickets.

That doesn't make any sense if true. And no, Arkansas is not the only one. South Carolina and LSU also did it the way I was referring to. A&M did not, because they rennovated.

Assuming you're referring to individual suites. I was referring to Arkansas as the one I'll concede to based on their suites going all the way to the flag poles on both sides. I'm not a fan at all of the individual suites for baseball. Baseball is supposed to be the most sociable sport out of the big three and I'm not a fan of segmenting everyone off into their own area. I like the communal area where you can all eat, socialize, and watch the game from either inside or outside. Btw, it should be noted all Diamond Club members get their own lockers that aren't regulated. So you can bring in all the booze your locker will fit.
but again...the grandstands that replaced the old one has almost the same basic design. There are plenty of changes that helped make it more sense to just tear down and rebuild. Significant structural changes were needed to accommodate the new pressbox/vip area as well as the large Diamond Club/seats.

I am talking about the open concourse that all new stadiums have now. If you guys decided to not include one but rebuilt, that is really dumb.
