I think this guy is a real winner. He made some phenomenal adjustments at halftime tonight against Houston.

UT should make a run at him.

Memphis is gonna get tired of having this happen to them every time they get something going

What's the alternative for them though? Get a mediocre coach that will stay?

That was against Major Applesauce. Idk how he was down 17 to begin with.

He can beat UCLA, so he already is better than Sumlin

I kind of see him as a little better Butch Jones type when Butch followed Brian Kelly. I think Justin Fuente built that thing to where it is at Memphis. He is the guy I would look at if you can get him out of Va. Tech.

Why in the world would Fuente leave Va Tech for Tennessee at this point? I've said in another thread, that job is every bit as good as UT at this point

Also for those wondering, Norvell is going to Arkansas.

Coming into the year this guy needs a couple of years to prove it wasnt just Fuente's players/system.

Blown out by UCF = not so sure about Norvell
Beats Houston - this guy can coach

I wonder if AD's twist back and forth in the breeze like message board posters?

Yeah, Fuente ain't leaving VA Tech. VT has him completely locked up.

Good I hope he doesn't. I'd like to see VA Tech good again.

Much like the Troy coach (no, not bringing it up to troll LSU fans) I think Norvell needs a bit more seasoning. I'm not sure he's ready for prime time.

That having been said if you can't find a more seasoned HC then giving a hot young coach a shot isn't the worst thing in the world. Your fans would have to be patient though because there would likely be some growing pains the first couple of years.

You can't be serious. UT's facilities and campus are head and shoulder better. And I've been on both campuses, sat in both stadiums.

People forget Tennessee is still the only school in the country with a 100K football stadium and 20K basketball arena. Their overall athletic facilities...and I include practice facilities...are superior not just to Va.Tech, but to every school in the ACC.

Sheesh.

Norvell may be great up-&-coming coach.

The main thing I took away from last nights game is that Houston is soft as hell and awful on defense. Memphis looked a'ight once they woke up

He's got a long of years on his deal, but he's not getting that much money and the buyout is reasonable.

If a UT or A&M comes calling VT will have to pony up from 3.2-4 M a year to 5. That's another 8 or 9 M more than what is on his current deal.

True Fuente built the program , but they were pretty much crap before him. Now look at Houston, their last 3 coaches were Herman, Sumlin and Briles and their recruiting was much better that Memphis. So that program should be on much more solid ground than Memphis, yet Norvell found a way to beat them at their place. I think he's a rising star and would love to take a chance on him at Arkansas.

Like what? Everyone always says this but never says what they actually were.
