One day before yesterday's game between the Dawgs & Gators, columnist Mike Bianchi re-posted his comments made just after last year's game in which the Dawgs crushed the Gators, 36-17. He re-posted his comments because he was trying to prove to Georgia faithful that he was RIGHT about this being the last time this was going to happen (this is funny).....

“Enjoy this, Georgia,” I wrote. “Savor this second consecutive victory over the Florida Gators. Relish your clear superiority over your rivals during Saturday's 36-17 victory in the World's Largest Outdoor Talent Discrepancy Party. Every Dog has its day. But your Dog days aren't going to last as long as you once thought. In less than a season, new Gator coach Dan Mullen has at least put some chomp back in this rivalry after taking over a doomed, done-for, dysfunctional program that completely quit on former coach Jim McElwain during last year's 42-7 loss to the Bulldogs.

“Cherish the 19-point victory, Georgia. Embrace it. Appreciate it. With Dan the Man in charge, you're not going to be Dogging the Gators like this for very much longer.”

Now, in addition to his re-posting of his words from last year, in his Friday column (day before yesterday's game), he added fresh words to the above in order to rebuke the Georgia faithful for chiding him for what he said and as a validation that he was RIGHT.

"I hate to say I told you so, but here we are just one year later and Mullen already has his No. 6-ranked Gators rated higher and performing better than Smart’s No. 8-ranked Bulldogs. If the Gators win Saturday — and I acknowledge that’s a big, big if — Mullen will have proven in just two years at UF that he is a better coach than Smart."

Now, read what he had to say after yesterday's defeat of the Gators.....

"Not yet.

Not yet, Gators.

You’re getting a little bit closer, but you’re not in Georgia’s neighborhood just yet.

You’re still in the cruiser-weight class and Georgia is in the heavyweight division.

After getting pounded by Georgia’s offensive line and pummeled by Georgia’s defensive front, the Florida Gators suffered through yet another Dawg Day afternoon on Saturday.

Georgia 24, Florida 17.

Any of us who thought the Gators were within striking distance of pulling even with the Georgia Bulldogs should have all gotten together Saturday night for The World’s Largest Outdoor Pity Party. Even though Georgia only beat Florida by a touchdown, the Dawgs were much more dominant than that. All you had to do was watch Gator coach Dan Mullen melting down and dressing down assistant coach Billy Gonzalez during the game to understand the magnitude of the frustration and the domination.

The Dawgs had the better offensive line. They had the better defensive line. They had the better quarterback. They had the better running back. They had the better wide receivers. And they had a head coach who was able to recruit the cavalcade of talent on display Saturday.

When asked how close UF is to pulling even with Georgia, UF coach Dan Mullen said, “Seven points. We’re seven points behind Georgia.”

Seven points and about 10 five-star recruits. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: Mullen may be a great game-planner, but if he wants the Gators to be in the same weight class as the SEC big boys — Georgia, Alabama and LSU — he has to start recruiting like them. And that needs to start immediately."

Dan Mullen sounds like a desperate man and Mike Bianchi sounds like he's learning to not count his gators until they hatch.

Bianchi is a click-bait whore and Mullen throws assistants under buses faster than SEC officials can make horrible calls. Mullen will not unseat Georgia from the East

Bianchi is a well-documented asshat.

All he does is talk shite to teams he thinks are about to lose and then talk shite to the team he thought would win when the game inevitably doesn’t go the way he proclaimed.

He’s basically a Rant poster with a column.

Mike Bianchi is a fricking hack. I wouldn't be surprised if he did his morning radio show in a Tebow jersey and a pair of jorts.

Yes he will. Ol’ Danny Boy throws his assistants under the bus with the best of them. Ask Geoff Collins about Ole Miss 2014. Anyway, I warned the Gators when he was hired that he wouldn’t recruit as well as he should, and he freezes up in big games. He can get you to 10-3, but can he get you above is the question to be answered.

It's odd but reading that only reminded me that we're the only SEC school that doesn't have a homer writing stuff like that for us. Otherwise, I've read articles like that from various homer writers for every team over the years and while they're fun to make fun of when they're wrong, they're just doing they're job as writers representing the views of their readers/fanbases.

As to Smart vs. Mullen... I think they're more similar than either fanbase wants to admit. Both make inexplicably awful calls at times and both have high floors. It will be interesting to see going forward how they ultimately fare.

Your last comment bears attention....Smart is a defensive-minded coach; Mullen, on the other hand, is an offensive-minded coach.

Yes, it will be interesting to see how both fare down the road in terms of not just overall success, but against one another.

So far, Smart is 3-0 versus Mullen.

Mike is correct as far as the OL and DL personal. Problem for Dan is Kirby will keep adding them on each year. Dan will need to have more explosive players at QB and skill positions to bring the Gators closer. UGA reminds me of Nick's teams from a couple years gone past.

He is a hack, but he's definitely not a UF homer. As little as 1 year ago he was all over UF for being scared of UCF.

He's the kind of guy who waits to see which way public opinion goes. Then he forms his stupid arse opinion.
He's a terrible, miniscule Orlando newspaper version of Skip Bayless. He's nothing more than a shite stirrer.
