Imagine getting to play UCF and USF each year. That would be amazing. Both schools would probably beat BAMA two years in a row.

Yep, if they cheated like the other team that beat Bama two years in a row, yes it could happen.

Bianchi is an idiot.

The Mississippi schools are part of us. They are part of our culture, our heritage, and our memories.

I am an Auburn fan but enjoyed lots of Auburn vs Miss state games with a grandfather who was an alum of State. Very fond memories and I miss those times as he is no longer with us.

I have been to the Ole Miss game for years with a close childhood friend who chose to go there for college while I chose Auburn.

You don't throw out your friends because they have not officially achieved the "what have you done for me lately?" status.

I hate that Auburn does not get to play Florida and UT every year as well. I am tired of sacrificing what I have enjoyed for years in the name of conference progress/expansion.

Without Ole Miss and Miss State, the SEC is not complete. I would never be a part of voting either school out.

All that said, I hope we beat the land sharks by 50 this weekend.

OM and MSU combined, have spent more weeks in the CFP top four than have UCF, USF, UF, FSU, and Miami. Combined.

I didn't see that in Bianchi's article.

You could say this about half the schools in power 5 conferences.

Also, we all know what Mike Bianchi is.

Two things: one that ain't happening and two, y'all don't honestly think we give a shite do you? I'd be just fine seeing us play in another conference. PEROID. And that's all sports.

I'm sure a move to CUSA would really get that Memphis rivalry boiling

Everyone else: Mike Bianchi brings nothing to the table, should be dropped by the Orlando Sentinel.

Seriously though, what have UCF or USF done athletically? No titles, no NCAA Tournament Appearances, no appearances in the NCAA Baseball Tournament (Mississippi State is a consistent top 15 baseball program)

We are a charter member and one of our former Staff members is the head of the SEC. Bianchi is a tool. UCF, they are one of the largest if not the largest university in the country yet they still have attendance in all sports less than Mississippi State. What a f***ing joke. It is like being Miss. America that can't figure out how to get laid by anyone other than a special needs person.

A better article by Auburn lovin' Bianchi would suggest a sunshine state conference.

FSU, Miami, Florida, the directional Florida schools, Florida A&M, Kiffin State, etc.

He is an attention loving hack and will probably be interviewed by local sports radio, finebaum and others.

I'm aware... he is like 95% of people with a voice these days... looking for click bait. That is why I come to the forums to get a summary. I'd rather the good people of the SEC rant get my clicks.

The only reason the Mississippi schools are in the SEC is because they were in the right place at the right time 100 years ago when the major conferences were formed.

And the only reason Bianchi has a journalism job is because he was in the right place at the right time 30 years ago. There is a reason its a dying profession, and he is a prime example.

You put Ole Miss or Mississippi State in any other Power 5 league.... with their resources and facilities... and they'd be in the top half.

And you ignored the fact that State is the worst academic school in the worst academic P5 conference. Not that Ole Miss is head and shoulders above, but they are better. Kind of like how State might be better overall athletically than Ole Miss for now, but the gap isnt wide and State still sucks too.

Ole Miss has a bigger and better fanbase, brings in more money, is more visible nationally, and has a higher ceiling.
Oxford is a great college town and is basically a suburb of Memphis and in one of the more populated and civilized areas of MS.
Starkville is one of the worst college towns in the country, and in the middle of nowhere with the closest "cities" being Tuscaloosa and Columbus. They draw rural farm kids, inbreds from the delta, and kids from AL and LA that didn't get accepted to UA, AU, or, LSU

So no they are not drawing "exactly the same kids". There is a significant difference between the income and education levels of the families that send their kids to State or Ole Miss.

There is literally not one single factual bit of information in this post, and that's damn difficult to do. Hats off to you. Now give the laptop back to mama.

This is the type of shite stupid fans say when their team can win head to head games on the field.

Shea Patterson has exactly one SEC win in his career. I'll let you share with the board who that was against.

Ole Miss is 24th in revenue at over $110 million.

UCF is around 53rd at under $60 million.

Could the SEC drag them up over time? Maybe. But it would take forever with no guarantee of success. And why in the world would Florida want this to happen? One of the nice things about the SEC is that we look after the other member schools.

But State is the worsr academic school in the SEC, and Ole Miss has world class women... Not everything is about sports.

1) This is a terrible argument. You could argue that Dartmouth is the "worst" Ivy League school - and that's still pretty good. Maybe Ole Miss and Miss St are not the tops in the SEC, but as a whole, the conference has some pretty solid academic institutions. And due to some quirks of Mississippi state law regarding college admissions, Ole Miss and Miss St. have some unique disadvantages that hurt them in the "college rankings" that give them an artificially low position compared to the actual quality of the education. I can say this and I'm not even a graduate of either program. Miss St. is doing particularly well in the engineering fields these days and are turning out strong graduates. Both schools are aggressively recruiting talented HS seniors from other states.

2) The entire SEC footprint has world class women. Just look at the top ten of the latest Miss America contest. Southern girls historically perform VERY well. Alabama had two students in the top ten this year and another last year. Auburn has had success there as well. OK, Texas A&M with all the male cadets may be an exception to the premise, though.

3) Calling any university the "worsr academic school in the SEC" is a bit of irony, don't you think?

Just sayin'.
