Midseason progress reports

With the second half of the season about to kick off here's how the top of the SEC is fairing in the only metric that matters down here, defense.
Total yards/game:
6. Mizzou 262.7
12. UGA 281.7
20. UF 309.9
25. LSU 316.0
30. A&M 324.5
36. Auburn 333.2
George's scouting report: congratulations to Mizzou for a good showing after that week 1 mishap. Looks like a solid big 6 of defense. Anybody lower than this doesn't have time to fix their problems and catch up. Better luck next year. You suck this year.
Rush yards/game:

13. LSU 91.8
20. Auburn 101.3
25. Mizzou 108.0
27. UF 110.9
32. A&M 116.2
34. Ole Miss 118.4
George's scouting report: the Bulldogs are rolling despite last week's embarrassment. I added the 7th team because they were just so close and OM been working so hard. They deserve a little recognition. To the bottom 7, don't cry. Your first half schedules must have been really tough. It will get easier from here.

This is the SEC, not the Big12. We don't pass the ball, so this stat is totally skewed. C'mon man! Any stat that has Tennessee in the top 3 in the SEC must be flawed.

So riddle me this Batman, if the only thing that matters in the “SEC” as you have stated. Why is it that the two teams “Bama & LSU” that year in year out had the top defenses in the country and always ahead of the group that is listed, why is it that they are ranked in the polls #1 & #2 are now leading the nation in offensive stats and not defensive stats? Riddle me that one Batman?
I mean you said that “defensive” stats are the only true stats that matter yet the two teams leading the country and the SEC in “offensive” stats are also ranked #1 & #2 in both the SEC and the country. That isn’t supposed to happen if defense is what matters most, correct?

It’s more important to have a lethal offense vs a dominant defense now. I’ve been saying this for the last few years also so it has nothing to do with LSU being my team. The game has changed.
