Is there anyway both sides can admit the situation may have been equally beneficial to each team? On A&M's side, they get a guy who will no doubt improve their defense. LSU gets an injection of energy when things were getting stale in Baton Rouge. And no matter your opinions on talent not being a problem at LSU, we had slipped in the front 7 recruiting wise and the new additions help immensely. So much of the conversation has been who got the best of who, but I see it as a positive for all parties. LSU defense will remain what it has been, and A&M gets a guy who can make them competitive on that side of the ball.

Has a Chavis led defense ever given up 70 points?

Maybe you should wait to see how your defense performs before making this thread.

Middle ground is like kissing your sister.

No offense gumps, but it's not an exciting thought for most.

No, but he's come close a couple of times.

We'll see. It was good for TAMU. Most likely good for LSU too. That team needed an infusion of something.

Your defense will be great this year, but you're at the top of the first drop of the roller coaster.

It may have been - we'll have to see how the season plays out. But most unbiased observers feel A&M got the better end of this deal, we upgraded and you downgraded.

A&M's D has no where to go but up, and we wont know until the end of the season how much better we actually got.

If LSU finishes lower ranked than they have under Chavis, will you admit you guys got the lesser of the two def coords?

He's a great coordinator. He did a great job while he was here.He did a great job at Tennessee. He had a&M looking like studs the first game. We have no idea what we have in Steel but we definitely know if Miles made the wrong decision we will have a new coordinator next year. Miles has proven that time and again. Why all the LSU insecurity??
We will know soon enough. Quit talking about Chavis.

Auburn could've easily scored 70 last year if Gus hadn't laid off the accelerator.

Also a little bit of a dishonest stat considering 14 points were defensive touchdowns, and a couple other turnovers put WVU down in the redzone. Still, a rough game, much like a couple Chavis was susceptible of having as well. Doesn't change my opinion that chief was a very good coordinator for us.
