spent some time on the ND reddit sub and they're all supporting the decision to decline. some are saying they should call BYU, Duke, and others and form their own post season playoff

I think the committee screwed up by having ND so high to begin with.
Pretty sure the rant agreed during the season when they were like 4-2 and ranked in the top 10.
They should have never been in front of Miami in the first place.

The problem was ND should’ve never have been higher than #14 based on their résumé but the CFP was lazy and mimicked the polls and it came back to bite them.

Exactly. The committee created the issue by keeping ND ahead of Miami until the final week.
Had this been resolved weeks ago, this would be a non-issue.
Same with Bama. Anyone with a brain cell knew they weren't leaving Bama out even if the score was 56-0.
You can't punish a team in this 12 team format that HAS to play in a championship game while others from the same conference are ahead of them and sitting at home.

ND lost their first two game by a total of 4pts. Blew everyone else out. Yea, they are terrible. SMH

Meantime Committee Chair when asked why A&M is 7 and Ole Miss is 6, "Well, 5-8 were idle so we didn't look at them" but of course they never said why they were 5-8 last week either.
Committee is beyond a joke and just applies whatever rules they want to fit whatever result they want.
As for this, it was funny seeing how they kept Bama at 9 because to move them to 10 would make it look worse to put them between Miami and ND, yet of course they won't say that. They also put in Miami because Duke won the ACC and the ACC members of the Committee would be out of a job if they didn't make sure that the ACC got at least a share of the playoff money.
Or you can choose to believe whatever bullshite they spout to justify their rankings.
