Miami Hurricanes guard Isaiah Wong will enter the transfer portal on Friday if his name, image and likeness (NIL) compensation isn't increased, his NIL agent Adam Papas of NEXT Sports Agency told ESPN on Thursday.

"If Isaiah and his family don't feel that the NIL number meets their expectations they will be entering the transfer portal tomorrow, while maintaining his eligibility in the NBA draft and going through the draft process," Papas said.

And free agency is here folks. This is exactly what pro players do when they fell like they deserve a new contract other than the one they orgianlly agreed to. If other schools would make an example out of him and didn’t take him then other kids may think twice about it. And then if he wanted to come back I would tell him no.

I don’t blame this on the kid necessarily, I blame it on Ruiz publicly announcing his ‘contract’ with Pack from K State for 2 years $800K. If you’re not paying the star player who took them to the elite 8 $400K per then I wouldn’t be publicly announcing new deals (probably would NDA them all regardless)

He did indeed sign a contract. A contract prepared 100% by the NCAA member school. A one year contract that is renewed annually at the sole discretion of the school, which can be voided for any reason.

I think NIL may indeed be the end of college football as we know it, and that sucks. But the kid is only following the rules set up by those in power. And its those in power that have stabbed themselves in the dick repeatedly in their governing of the sport that is the root cause of this, not the kids.

This isn’t specifically directed at you but I just can’t read this thread and not cringe at the whole idea of it all. And to me any putz demanding what he’s demanding is officially out of any ‘kid’ club and no longer gets any built in coddling or pampering for simply being young. But I’m not naive enough to think that will happen, we’ll still hear the stories of how mistreated and used the poor players are and how they’re given second and third chances because they’re basically slaves blah blah.

8&4feit fans apparently don't even care that this will kill college football if unregulated, as long as they win a title before it's dead.

To their chagrin, the vast majority of programs will demand it be regulated, so there is hope it survives. I think it will.

Tells you all you need to know about the structure of these deals.

Multiple by 25 - 30 football recruits and see if it adds up somewhere close to 30 mil.

The only way this ends is if Miami tells him to eat shite and other schools don’t agree to his demands. Unfortunately, that won’t happen when you have schools like A&M who will unload any amount of money so they can finally win a title. It will be regulated eventually, just not sure how soon.
