Sometimes it is best just to keep ones thoughts to themselves...

His kids are in a horrible place right now. They will be taken care of by the Auburn community, but everything Auburn screams Bramblett. Not sure I would be able to stay there until I healed.

The Kick Six call is a memorable one for sure. The one I recognize for sure.

The Auburn family will take care of them for as long as needed, both financially, and emotionally. The kids will, understandably, struggle through this but they will be supported and loved. They will also be supported by people that aren't Auburn fans because this is how life down here works.
I'm confident that each school would do the same if the shoe was on the other foot.

This.
I couldn't tell you any call by any other team's announcer, but the minute I heard the news I thought of his call "Auburn's going to win the football game". Prayers for his kids and the Auburn family. Such a tragedy.

That fund is over $38,000 already, in only about 2.5 hours. I think the goal started at $25K...now it's $50K.
Lots of good people in the world who recognize what a tragedy this is for those kids.

Still upset about their tragic passing.
But, I am curious, what kind of life insurance policies were set for the Brambletts? I guess technically he wasn't an employee of AU, must have been an employee of some media company.
All the moneys in the world still can't erase the tragedy that these kids (and frankly all kids that something like this ) go through.
All children like this will need a lot of support from other family members. Do they have Aunts and Uncles? Any idea where they may go now?
Sorry about all the questions.

quote:Thought crossed my mind as well. Didn't know if he was technically a private contractor or as some type of self employed. But he is the director of broadcast for Auburn Sports Properties, which is owned by Fox Sports. And his wife worked for Auburn. So either way, they were covered

I'm looking at his bio on auburntigers.com and his listed email is an @foxsports.net address, so I'm guessing they were his official employer
But like you said, his wife was an official AU employee so their kids should still get any benefits that the children of a state employee would get

As an LSU fan, these lines are forever embedded in my brain, and I thank Rod Bramblett for it.
"There goes Davis!"
"Auburn is gonna win the football game!"
"They're not gonna keep them off the field tonight!"
I can hear him every time I think of it.

I would guess that he made some nice cheddar and had insurance. The funds are nice but I would guess that they had things taken care of for their family.
If you are over 50 and you do not have your family taken care of, you should do so immediately

We would expect nothing less if it happened to one of ours.
I love the rivalry and the friendly back and forth that goes with it, but tragedies like this put it all into perspective. This is life we're talking about. Still praying hard for the Bramblett kids, that 16-year-old kid, and the entire Auburn family. God bless you.

Pierson that donated the $5k is a big donor...the courtside lounge in the AU Arena is named after him...
No telling how high that thing gets by the end of he day...

I see our sociopath serial downvoter is still around. Downvoted me for posting this thread.
Yeah, rivalries are one thing, real life is something else. When the tornado came through Tuscaloosa, Auburn responded big time. Some of us don’t forget that. Most of our fans keep things in at least semi-proper perspective. It’s just the true nut jobs like Harvey that make everyone look bad.
