This biggest take away for me was how comfortable he looked. That did not look like a true freshman out there making his first career start in the swamp last night. He did not appear to be rattled at all. A couple times I wish he would have throw the ball away instead of taking a loss when scrambling, but that is to be expected.

I know this was just one game, but I think we may have our quarterback moving forward. My favorite play from last night may have been when Johnson was going down the sideline and jumped/dove trying to get the first down then getting crushed. While I don’t want my quarterback taking hits like that, it showed how tough and competitive he is. Very Burrow like.

So happy for Max and his family. There was no prouder person at that game than his dad Brad Johnson. How awesome for their family.

Hope everyone has an awesome Sunday and Geaux Tigers!

He played great. I bet he's sore this morning. He took a pounding.

Eh. Agree to disagree. There are some things in a quarterback you just can’t teach, and I think that was on full display last night.

Too early to say either way but nobody will take away last night.

First start as a freshman. Throws more touchdowns and 2 less interceptions than a top 5 heisman choice. Fools gold, I tell you!

Makes you wonder why O took so long to start him. Unless O is a cheerleading dumbass. Hmmm...

Good for him, but our defense or lack there of, made a lot of QBs look good this year. See UF vs Vandy, USC, Ark, Ole Miss, T A&M. Need I name more? Tennessee

I remember people saying the same about Finley after 1 game. Myles is the guy if he comes back healthy next year

I've said for three weeks that Max looked better than TJ finley and I kept wondering what was going on in practices for O to say Finley performed better than Johnson? Johnson made reads and play that Finley couldn't do last week.

Johnson should've got the start when Mile went down.

Now, I agree with some of you.. too early to tell but some of johnson's throw was low and not accurate. He'll get better at it.

Max is more athletic than Brennan. More athletic than TJ for that matter. Opens up the offense more imo.

I bet he has bruised ribs from where he tried to jump for that first down as he went out of bounds. He learned not to do that. First downs are great but had he been unable to continue, LSU would've surely lost. Important lesson.

First LSU qb ever to throw for 3 td's in the swamp. As a true frosh on the road. That's impressive.

He was noticeably limping at the end of the game. Hope it’s just a sprain.
