I'd rather get a head coach as an OL Coach rather than an OL coach as a Head coach.

Can someone explain all the giggling? It seems like a former HC coming ot be a position coach isn't too bad. And I mean we just lost the most elite OLC in the game so anyone we got was obviously going to be a downgrade. But I'm curious why this hire supposedly sucks?

I honestly don't remember his reputation as an OL coach - I know he was with Cut a while and was at Tennessee at some point?

frick I hope not. That would be a damn good hire. He's a hell of a recruiter and his players play hard for him. Dont want him going over to Athens. I hope they hire Herb Hand.

Most fans with 1/2 a brain wanted him fired as O line coach. Instead, they hired him as head coach. Incidentally, our O line improved, but our entire team starting sucking then.

Our O line improved when he left the o line room to be HC.

It doesn't. There are a lot of guys out there who don't make good head coaches but are good assistants. Luke is probably about as good as they can do to replace Pittman with what's available

I’m not going to pretend that I am well versed in the available high quality O line coaches, but we are not kidding that we all wanted him fired as the O line coach. Our line was dreadful the entire time Freeze was here. We absolutely could not run the ball. The numbers of sacks allowed wasn’t atrocious, but it’s because we got rid of the ball so quickly. Line immediately improved once he was promoted to head coach rather than OL. Probably the only unit on our team that improved.

He also looks like a sister fricking dipshit, so there’s that as well.

I do vividly remember Ole Miss' running issues, but from the outside I was never sure if that was coaching based or talent based.

In the beginning it was more talent based, but there was no excuse it improved NONE over the course of 5 seasons of great recruiting.
