Maryland is hoping to get an answer from the NCAA on QB Taulia Tagovailoa's eligibility in the next few days.
With Josh Jackson's decision to opt out, redshirt freshman Lance LeGendre would be the only scholarship quarterback available if Tagovailoa is not eligible.

Taulia Tagovailoa’s transfer waiver has been approved by the NCAA and the former Alabama QB is immediately eligible to play at Maryland, per source. Attorney John Long handled family’s case over last three months, and Maryland coach Mike Locksley was notified of the news today.

why would he get a waiver? I know the NCAA is passing them out like candy right now, but what is the hardship he's claiming? "My family from Hawaii doesn't want to live in Tuscaloosa anymore after my brother was drafted by the Dolphins, and I wasn't going to play at Alabama"?

I have a feeling that most, if not all, of the remaining transfers will get eligibility from the NCAA this year.

Since every game he appeared in for Vtech had this fact mentioned, this thread deserves it too. Did you know his dad was the RBs coach at Michigan

Will be interesting seeing how he does in College Park.
That offense is the same one Tua ran when Locksley was here so schematically he should be somewhat familiar.

LSU fans are praying that this is true in basketball.

Legendre the other QB is from Nola right? I remember he was a good HS QB just below the SEC radar

Would enjoy watching the Terps if he won the job. Rooting for Locks and Lia

How did I completely miss him transferring?

Yeah he played for Warren Easton I think. He was on the Netflix short QB1 that followed his season year and 2 other players.

It doesn’t matter. The players will get immediate eligibility now. I haven’t made up my mind yet if that’s a good thing or not yet.

Do they have a really athletic WR that can occasionally throw a short route?
I'm just sayin'.

He will be because
-his last name
-he’s a QB
-will provide a marketable story
NCAA only cares about $$$

We're still waiting on Gatewood's waiver, even though Auburn and Kentucky have done everything they needed to do on both ends months ago.

I'll never forget them having to start a freshman linebacker at QB in 2012.
