I would infringe the trademark anyway as long as he is an amateur, because he has no damages. He couldn't take advantage of it anyway since he is an amateur.

I've often thought that this is a loophole in trademark law vis-a-vis so-called amateur athletes.

Quick hijack-I just found out a few days ago some friends and I were cabin mates with JFF at Pine Cove.
