About to be the MVP of the tournament at Kansas and he could do nothing at State. Blows my mind, Howland must be a terrible coach.

When you need a straight line, obtain two data points.

Howland wouldn't let him shoot the basketball.

Man y’all are butthurt Dude chill out. We may not win the very first ever NCAA championship for the state of Mississippi Sunday night. It’s more like a 60/40 chance we win but there’s still a chance y’all are safe. Pray hard about it tonight and God will hear your prayers if it’s meant to be.

Howland has that dumpster fire he took over on the verge of making the tournament. He's not a bad coach

NCAA championship? Which sport? Actually, I don't care.

Seriously, you really just started a thread without facts. After year one, 9 players were gone including 7 SR's. The following year was the true beginning of the rebuild. Newman was also hampered with a season long injury and I think he made the choice best for him at the time.
He didn't want to stick around during a rebuild plus he didn't want to play what was asked of him. Both parties parted ways with no bad feelings. At least do your homework.

Looks pretty lazy to me. No defense

State’s always been a glorified junior college

He got worse when he left MSU.

He's looked like trash today. And his problem at State was injuries and selfishness. He thought he was a one and done, top 5 pick. Reality smacked him in the face. Had nothing to do with State. He just wasn't good as a freshman.

Still got him as MVP?

Evidently when Cal came to Jxn to see him he noted that Malik never looked to his coach but instead watched what his dad was telling him from the stands and washed his hands of him at that point. Howland tried to strike a compromise but told him and Horatio to pound sand when Malik’s dad became too intrusive.

Only our fans know about this stuff. That's why I laugh when I see threads started like this one. The expert from outside with no knowledge inside the box.
