Chase was a freshman and Marshal a freshman too. They had not had 3 years like Mac had of practicing together and running routes. It took 1 year for them come together.
Don’t give me that BS of “different playcallers” lol. It is the same system run by the same Head Coach. Saban is a defensive minded but he is all over that offense. He knows what is to happen. If not, he would not have blown up on Kiffin all those times.
You are pretty horrible at realizing that Burrow had a lot less time than Mac did with his receivers and getting the playbook down.

You are claiming Mac is better than Joe.
I'm pretty sure that I am not nor have I
And I have just been putting up great stats comparing Mac to Joe. I am pretty sure I've been careful not to say one was technically better!
I did call Mac GOAT at reading defenses but that is just a personal opinion. He has a better winning percentage and has led the GOAT point production offense to a national title.

Max had never started a road game before, went to Auburn against an elite defense, made 1 bad throw and threw for 350 yards and 4 TDs.
Then he got better from there.

Are you under the impression Mac was running with Jeudy, Ruggs and Smitty in practice as the #2 QB?

The hell does that have to do with talking about the QBs first games in tough road environments?
Hence, where the confusion arises Mr. Rocket Scientist. Move the goal post and backpedal all you'd like but at the end of the day Burrow reigns supreme and your season got stamped with the *. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Looks like every other Tiger Stadium 4th quarter Alabama sees. Except for the cute dogs I guess.
Am I missing something?

You are just using words and phrases you've seen grown ups use on TV.

Wow, what a sophisticated rebuttal. I am truly disheartened. I suppose I'd better start watching more cable TV to enhance my vocabulary.

I mean he did run the scout team with Smitty in 2017.
But yeah Mac had practiced as QB 1 for like 4 weeks prior to that Iron Bowl. QB2 was not throwing to Jeudy and Ruggs much in practice.

You seemed to be having an entirely different discussion than the one we were actually having.
Sorry if it seemed to get past the point of no return.

So you mean in the summer when QBs and WRs run routes and practice it was only Tua throwing the ball to them? No other QB was out there? Mac was not practicing at all considering Tua has had injury problems every year he was there? Ok. I mean I guess that is why he was able to graduate in 2 years. He literally only needed to dress up for games.

Mac was a backup QB who had no game experience and was throwing to the 2nd team receivers.
You can argue he had great receivers to throw to, but he did not have chemistry with those guys when he was forced into action late in 2019. That's silly.
