Today is a big day for LSU football. If a couple chips fall our way, we could see the tigahs representing the SEC in the playoffs. Here’s how :

Auburn beats Alabama
Ohio State beats Michigan
USC beats Notre Dame

That scenario puts us in the top four. Then for the SECCG we need UGA to beat Bama. UGA would not get in over us because we have the head to head.

I think we could still get in even if Bama wins the SECCG but loses in the Iron Bowl - their strength of schedule would keep them out and LSU would still go. You never know with the biased gump media though.

You also have 2 losses. LSU would not get in over Georgia if we win the SECCG.

LSU gets in if the biased media ignores LSU's losses and multiples everybody elses. Does this about sum up your analysis?

I thought you guys were opposed to going to the playoffs without winning your division/conference?

Sounds a bit hypocritical.

Those 3 results don't put LLLLLLLLSU in the Top 4. They'd still need more help next week.

Change your scenario for UGA to lose today but beat bama and you have a prayer.

Are you saying there’s a chance?

Not exactly. Strength of schedule means something and so does head to head results. LSU has gone through a gauntlet this year. Not saying UGA hasn’t also but we proved it on the field who was better between UGA and LSU.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve read on tRant in a long time.

With this being a close second.

The SEC champ is in the playoffs. Get over it.

Thank you for the laugh.

Nope. UGA gets the SEC slot in that scenario unless they lose to Ga. Tech. But you also need Clemson to lose to USCe and whoever they play in the ACC Chip game.

Slim to none chance for LSU unless chaos like 2007 reigns. Washington State losing helped your cause but if all that happens then UCF may slip in. Which may be a good thing as once they get murdered by whoever they play will shut them up for good.

I thought you LSU fans would not want to go to the playoffs,if you didn't win the conference.

Further, LSU has a grand total of 0% of going to the playoffs over Bama. You know 29-0 and shite.

Not sure that "path" is the right word. Too complicated for a path.

IF Bama loses to Auburn, and then loses to UGA
IF OSU beats Michigan, then loses to Northwestern
IF USC beats Notre Dame, and then Notre Dame cancels football

IF all of this happens, LSU is a lock.
