LSU doesn't have any say as to their conference schedule. The Iron Bowl got moved into LSU/Arky's game slot for a couple years until Saban whined and cried about it, then they switched back. But I guess it's not 'whining' when it's effective.
Apparently LSU just has to play whomever, whenever - and schedule bye weeks whenever - Slive, as told by Saban, says.
I say, frick it , whatever, bring 'em on.

Agree. I'm heading to Baton Rouge this year and hope to make future games. Thanksgiving would hurt that IMO.
For what it's worth I do not think it will be on Thanksgiving because of the NFL taking more interest on that day. So I think we're safe.

This! ANY night game is preferable, even on Thanksgiving Night. Start a new tradition. Spend TG day on campus, have your feast at your tailgate and then go to the game at night! Much better than the Friday or Saturday afternoon BS that most LSU'ers hate.

LSU provided A&M with a more than suitable replacement opponent, therefore the terms of the contract were met by both parties.

To be fair, no one at the time knew that the Cajun QB would go on to play in a Superbowl, and that one of their receivers would still be playing in the NFL today.
...but if I remember right, it was that crazy Cajun D that won the game.

As for the Eggbowl being played on T.giving nite, everything I hear is that both are lobbying the league & ESPN to make that game a holiday fixture. Mite boil down to the network, who will have a lot to say in it, wanting the Tigers vs the aggies over the dawgs & black bears for ratings. Hope not.

CBS is entitled to a game on T+1 per the contract. But there were hints CBS may drop that in favor of an early season game now that they've lost the US Open.
Last I heard Egg Bowl on T-day, A&M-LSU on T+1 potentially in prime time slot on ESPN. If so I think we'll all be happy.
