LSU's starting Right Tackle suffered a knee injury and went out versus Miami. The backup that came in and subsequently started versus Southeastern Louisiana was benched versus Auburn, being replaced with a true Sophomore in RT Austin Deculus who repped at Guard all offseason and Fall Camp.

LSU's returning starter at Right Guard was suspended indefinitely during the preseason and LSU came into the Auburn game starting the backup in on the Right side and pushing Brumfield into service on the opposite side. Who was injured versus Auburn and had to come out of the game before returning later. Which pressed True Freshman Chasen Hines into the game at Guard-who had been repping on the Defensive Line prior to this.

Meaning at one point on Saturday, LSU was on its 4th Tackle and-due to its depth chart at Tackle pressing a Guard into service on the right edge-its 5th Guard. Against arguably the best Defensive Front in the conference in a game they had marked on their schedule for a year in Auburn in front of a home crowd...

On paper they should not have stood a single chance. Yet we were only outrushed by 9 yards in the run game, and only gave up a single sack all game.

Huge kudos to a MASH Unit LSU OL and to new LSU OL Coach James Cregg.

**Thanks for the clarifications. My b**

I like your post but we lost our starting RG (Ingram). Brumfield has always been there except for a few series vs. Auburn because of an injury.

There's a lot of factually incorrect information in your post OP.

Starting with Deculus practicing at guard all offseason and fall camp. He was at RT almost all fall camp, until the final week when they moved him behind Brumfield at LG. He then practiced all week at LT and played there against Southeastern (2 weeks ago).

Ingram was the returning starter at RG, not LG. Brumfield was the returning starter at LG.

The thing about Burrow is that , while he's not a great passer, he can read a defense and knows how to make adjustments. LSU was generally able to pick up the blitzes - and that includes the RBs who I saw make a couple of great blocks in the backfield.

Burro knows what he's doing out there in terms of reading the defense, watching the play clock, getting his team set, throwing the ball away when he needs to, tucking it in and running when he needs to, and despite what the Bama fan was saying Sunday keeps his eyes downfield and will check off to the throw in the flat if the deep ball isn't there.

He's just not a consistently accurate thrower, and his release is a little slow sometimes. I'm thinking he's going to make a good coach one day.

Had been told by folk his future was on the interior towards the end of Camp. Wasn't aware they gave him another shot. Thanks for the clarification on the Guard stuff, too. I edited my post.

But the point still stands. We got a fantastic performance as a unit out of the OL this past Saturday.
