Somehow Coach O sold a bag of goods to our AD and got the HC job by promising there would be no drop-off in performance without laying out any plans of addressing the issue of lack of depth and exodus of key talent the past couple of years.

A recent article in the local newspaper sheds light on the dire situation LSU finds itself it with no depth a key positions. Apparently they can't even find 10 linemen to conduct 5-on-5 practice.

So for the record, I think LSU will struggle for the next couple of years and lose multiple games. 2019 and 2020 should be good though to make some type of run if Saban has left by then. LSU fans need to just acknowledge reality and bide their time instead of thinking they can somehow contend for the SEC West in the near future, and setting themselves up for failure and misery. But if you go in expecting 4-5 losses the next couple of seasons, at least you can enjoy the wins a bit more.

Yup!

And the RA RA type coaching can only take you so far. O has toughness but not the brains. Got to have BOTH.

We lost 1 game. 1 GAME. I understand it was against a team that we usually whip and we are used to whipping but damn, chill the frick out. State just might be pretty good this year. Combine that with LSU obviously overlooking state, which we did, us having injuries on the line, us playing alot of young players, us playing sloppy/undisciplined/horrible football, LSU making its first true road game in in the sec no less with a new coaching staff, state being extremely amped up for the game bc it's their superbowl, and state playing damn near a perfect game and there you have it. We got beat it's that simple. It happens to everyone at some point, thas football. People deal with that differently though, and obviously you tuck your tail and run. Others man up and realize what happened and know they're better than that bullshite, correct their mistakes and learn from it to get better. Geaux tigers.

Go to a 3-man defensive line, and keep the other healthy Dlineman fresh for the game.

Most of them have left since O took over, though. I really don't think you can give him a free pass on this.

He was there to recruit them, and he was there to see them go.

We aren't in a rebuild mode.
We just have a terrible AD and HC.

I remember the last time LSU went through that. It was from the time Billy Cannon made that run at Halloween until Nick Saban got there. We will all be bead when LSU is good again!

I like how LSU can't be successful because of a coach at another school. He's not in control of LSU winning. That mentality is beyond inferior.

And a terrible fan base in some regards, the constant public bashing and threats to Miles just excaberated the problem.

Had the AD stood up publicly behind Miles in 2015 & 2016 all along and fired him at seasons end last year things would likely look very different, problem was the fan base and it's unreasonable demands.

You guys ran off the most successful coach in your history to hire EdO because of petulant fans, let that sink in for a bit.

All the LSU Pumpnuts don't understand or care about this.

They have dramatically low standards and expectations for the LSU football program, the University, the State of Louisiana and themselves personally.

Talent won't ever just leave that area. LSU will always field a good team. Just need a new AD from outside looking in it seems. Haven't seen enough to say rebuild though lol.
