LSU is no more dirty but they were obviously more desperate and dumber under the old AD.

Dumber: *Standing the head of a local charitable hospital on the sidelines. A look at me spot reserved for big money recruiting funders with layers of plausible deniability who got their money the old fashioned way. They inherited it.

Other schools hire crooks who are reasonably sure of themselves and have leadership skills. Those not feeling the need for street cred and who ID more with the mission of the school rather than "Coach Cool" and all the inevitable drama. And wind up spilling their guts on an open phone line.

Desperate: LSU is in a sports mad state with a culture of flexible morality. Outside of the Tigers and Saints and gambling and cock fighting they have I-10 and 20 and the road to Texas. And the Tigers are the only and most successful show in town. They see Alabama and Auburn sharing a state with similar pop and the national title in the big show, football, was held by those two schools an incredible 4 years in a row. And came within 6 seconds of 5. Just prior to $180K. And Miles had replaced Saban who the fans basically ran off. And 2012 followed 21-0.

Hell of a trip to LSU. I admit being a little nervous walking through their tailgate area before a game when Stallings was winning at UA. And I had been dog cussed, threatened and berated several times in Knoxville. But never nervous. Never in Auburn either. The UA and AU fans are rabid but respect each other at the games, it's just different in Red Stick. The new (AD) guy appears to be a pro. to an outsider.

And finally there are no Chargers (LOL) @ Alabama. They cut corners too but they don't pay an OL's dad $180K. They learned their lesson the hard way. So they put their money into the finest facilities in the land, more staff, playing big name schools in high profile openers, and Nick Saban and anything he wants. They realized they couldn't out cheat and survive but they could sure outspend. And have. JMO.

So you really don't think Alabama cheats at all? If so, good for you, you are a real fan.

Yes they are... and their fans are more in denial too as evidenced by the head-in-sand posts declaring this didn’t have anything to do with LSU. I guess it was actually about the REC and the SEC. office in Birmingham.

Read the post. "Sure they cut corners too but they don't pay an OL $180K"...

I don't know about dumber. The new AD bowed to pressure and reinstated wade hoping on the off chance nothing happens. It's why he had the clause put in the contract so he could have plausible deniability. No innocent coach has that shite written into his contract. Alleva did what any AD would do in suspending wade. Lsu didn't fire the problem. Their angst was focused on the wrong guy.

I'm afraid there are dark days ahead. They seem to be in disarray right now.

You realize Alleva didn’t want to suspend him, that came from the board. Until they have actual evidence wade is safe.
As far as the OLOL, We will see but I’d say neither head coaches are there, Saban nor Miles and it doesn’t look to be recruiting money for players. I know everyone is hoping something big comes down but when I doesnt, the melt will be glorious!

At this point LSU is caught and they self reported. What I guess you are saying is the body should bring forth legislation that said it is ok for boosters to pay the parents of players as long as they waited until after the kid shows up and plays in what....3 games, 5 games or whatever.

And again, the school self reported this. They fell on the grenade in self defense. Because it is a violation. Get it over with. Take a year off from bowl and or a few grants over 2 years pin it on Miles and move on. What you don't want is a full body cavity search. That takes time and others use it against you. Good thing is the staff who facilitated Funes is gone.
