How has the rest of the conference fared?
So, I looked it up:
Bama: 1-0
Auburn: 1-2
A&M: 1-2
State: 0-2
Arkansas: 0-2
Ole Miss: 0-2
Looks like, except for bama, everyone else in the West has a sub .500 record against ranked teams.

After we play state we will still be 1-1 because state won’t be ranked next week. Go figure.

And if LSU had lost to those teams, they would still be ranked. Thus, LSU contributed to them not being ranked anymore.
By the way, per your logic on opponent rankings, State is 0-2 versus ranked teams. And after this weekend, LSU will still be 1-1 and State will be 0-3.
