That 2005 Katrina season was a bitch too, I think that championship game was like our 11th in a row without a bye

Only 1 game have the teams been on pretty darn equal footing, and that's the game we won.

We were the underdogs in every game, including the 2005 game.

But we were definitely seen as having a chance in 2003. Played them in BR that year and lost on a last minute drive right after we had tied the game.

Dang, the last 5 years have been a blur. I didn’t realize we’re up to 10.

Weak competition to get there.

maybe, but I don't really agree personally. We had more losses than LSU, were ranked lower, and had already lost to LSU. Hindsight is 20/20 of course but the fact they won the title I think solidifies that they wer ethe better team, even if it may have been closer comparitively heading into the game.

Here's the thing. LSU and Georgia both lost to Florida that year. The lone separating factor was that LSU won a close game in Baton Rouge in September. There were plenty of folks picking UGA to win the SECCG. The opening line was LSU being favored by 3 points. It was a very even matchup on paper.
