Pay them far more than they could ever receive as a head coach at a lower tier school.
I think we have seen that with Aranda - it seems clear he wants to be a head coach but no one can match his $2.5 million salary.
Here’s to you LSU.

Holy frick, 2.5 mil for a DC who didn’t have a great year. Good for him I guess.

The secret to keeping assistant coaches is having less appealing alternate prospects. All that is in their control is not having a shitty operating environment.

He gave up more points than his team scored exactly 0 times in 13 games.

Maybe...but replacing him with an unknown and surely lesser entity is way too risky.
His D...although infuriating at times....was good enough and appears to have found their stride right on time.

Yeah its nice, when you dont have to pay your Head coach 6-10mil a year it frees up more money for you to build an entire coaching staff and retain them. Its a team thing...management 101

There will come a point in time where Coach O will demand a raise - I mean he has earned hasn’t he? He was just at the house at someone on the LSU Board of Directors Sunday - I imagine he may have said something about it.

This may come as a surprise to you but not all coaches are self worshipping pricks

Unless you are Clemson and Dumbo is holding Bert Vernables hostage with a video of BDSM or some shite. That guy should have left after the first championship. I think Dumbo is holding the gimp over him

I don’t think he wants to be a HC, honestly.

there is something weird there for sure, Dabo has something in the safe that he threatens will come out any time someone calls for Brent.

Sexton probably hates Ed O’s putting the team ahead of himself.
Coach O probably is a man who can get by on 3 instead of 5 million.

Not every assistant wants to be a HC. Mickey Andrews and Bud Foster just to name a couple.

Who wants him? LSU will ensure staying at LSU is his best option.

So that’s why A&M couldn’t get Aranda
