Yep. It’s back to the old offense for LSU. Believe it.
8-4 every year.

ETA: after reading the responses, I guess I have to explain that my post was completely sarcastic

If you think Ed O is going to allow the offense to return to that shitshow, I don’t know what to tell you.

I just don't see Ensminger changing what he has done for decades. When LSU is in a tight game, he will do what he is most comfortable doing. It is obvious Brady had a huge influence on last years O.

Ensminger did call most of the plays last year. We will be hiring a new Passing game Coordinator and I’m sure E learned a lot from Brady last year. You would have to be stupid not to run the same offense we ran last year. Wishful thinking wont help you. We’re here to stay.

So after all of these years of Ensminger running the O a certain way, he had a come to the light moment all of a sudden? He couldn't watch other O's and copy their plays? You are naive as hell if you think he will totally change what he has been doing since the early 80's. Brady game planned those passing plays against those D's..........not Ensminger.

BTW Ensminger has worked under numerous OC's over the years.........yet you saw what his O looks like two years ago.

I have seen his work.

I know what he is all about. I also know he isn't going to throw everything out he has learned over the last four decades, and suddenly become this mad scientist. I know LSU fans believe that to be the case. It's just not so.

You seem slow. Do you think Joe brady is not being replaced and now Ensminger is running his 80s offense solo?

A 15-0 championship season will do that, yes.

True story. Late in the Texas game, O asked Ens if LSU should just try and run out the clock. Ens said, no, we're going to go down and score. And we did.

Ens is not some super conservative play caller that most fans think he is. Good coaches constantly try to up their game by meeting with coaches of other teams. This is no secret. Brady was able to help Ens expound on the passing game. If opposing fans think Ens forgot what he learned, you're mistaken.

BTW, O is looking for Brady's replacement in the NFL once again. It's probably premature for fans to make conclusions before an actual hire has been made.

You guys sound so stupid (Envious)! Ensminger just started calling plays when O became coach so the decades comment is way off, but keep on talking about things you have no clue about.

It was O and E's plan all along to change the offense. Why would they go back? Brady is gone, but they didn't lose the playbook.

LSU is not going back to the old offense. Evidence is orgeron interviewingNFL people for passing game coordinator.

LSU will likely never line up in an I formation again.

Orgeron directed that LSU was going to the spread RPO. Ensminger did it. With Brady’s help. We have the plays. We have the install package. Brennan has been through the install. Most of tHe receivers are back.. plus a game changing tight end.

Talent level on both lines is better.. yes experience is down a little.

Keep dreaming. Has the SEC suddenly discovered three or four shut down defensive backs on each team. Last I checked none of the top teams have an established “big game” QB. Did not see any dominant SEC defenses either during last season or the bowl season. The sec has a top tier of several very good teams.. and a second tier of good teams.. some will emerge as great teams but that is yet to be determined.

It seems to me that everyone is overlooking the fact that LSU hd a very special QB and receivers to run the 2019 offense. A&M was in every game except the LSU game if Kellen Mond could have hit the numerous open receivers. Burrow and Jefferson made plays that most can’t. That’s got to affect the play calling.

Ensminger has not been an oc in years. He did learn a new offense to go along with a traditional offense. We now have both.

While all of this is valid, everyone he’s coached under has allowed him/encouraged him to play max protect and run deep routes a la the 70’s chargers.

I truly hope, and because I’m an irrational fan, believe that this past year showed him just how deadly 4-5 in route at all times can be and how you can still run successfully with it.

If we run as much as one max protect next year with only 2 people in routes (a1abama 2018 and 2016) I’ll call for him to be replaced

Nobody is overlooking that. But from a raw athleticism standpoint LSU stands to upgrade everywhere minus qb. However the experience and skills JJ and Clyde has will be almost completely impossible to replace.
