I am an Auburn fan and I am still excited to see the dawg at LSU. I give LSU the home field advantage, but the dawg I feel is too much for LSU. Will be a good match. Also, I think the majority is sleeping on South Carolina this year. What do the dawgs think of going into Williams-Brice? Id love to see this talked about more.

What is this trickery?

Ill make it simple. Do you think Georgia stands a chance going into LSU and South Carolina? What makes or breaks them?

Dunno... I assume it will play out in good time.
As far as the actual OP. Not "nervous" per se about the South Carolina game, but I do expect them to be the most challenging East matchup... on the road, early... they'll be fired up. We had a *ton* of miscues in the South Carolina game last year, but most of them stemmed from not having an answer for the TE... I don't know that adding Samuel back but losing the TE will amount to a net positive for USC, and they have more to replace than we do on the defensive side of the ball.

Allow me to translate.
He is excited for the Georgia at LSU game. He gives home field advantage to LSU, but still thinks Georgia will win. It will be a good, close game.
He thinks people are sleeping on S. Car. He wonders what Georgia thinks about playing at S. Car.
He would enjoy more discussion regarding the above.

Too reasonable to be an alter. Welcome.

Is this a BillyJoeOzark alter with a spell-checker?

We're gonna frick both teams up doggystyle!
Lol I don't know to be honest. I feel more comfortable about the LSU game even though Death Valley is a tough place. They have a good team, but I think they are a season or two out from being noteworthy again. Too many inconsistencies. But anything can happen. South Carolina I would pit is the toughest out of the two. I never sleep on USCe. And they have the talent and a good coach plus home field advantage this year.

SC is a solid team. UGA out-talents them at every postition, but that isn't a new thing, SC always plays UGA hard, especially in their stadium.

I'm more worried about south Carolina than lsu.
Both will be tough matchups in an away setting.
But we seem to struggle more at Williams brice than tiger stadium.

LSU in their place is tough no matter what. Last time I remember it not being that way there was maybe Mike Archer Days, I dunno. I remember us winning there, pouring down rain ... I think Mike Archer was there then.
UGA at SC. Who knows. I wish it were a night game in the Cockpit instead of the 3:30 CBS game ... it is going to be so fricking hot ----- owell.
Anyways. It should be a good game. UGA has more talent but I'm not convinced they are that far ahead of us just yet. They may well be soon, once Kirby gets a couple more classes under his belt ... they have more talent than do we but we actually return more experience this year.
They lost some key players, but so did we.
These games typically are close and hard fought, especially in The Cock Pit. There is this whole Kirby vs Boom former teammates dynamic going-on ... and the recruiting aspect given how Boom loves to recruit in Kirby's backyard.
UGA is 19-7 against is since expansion in '92 I think. 6-4 over the last ten years.
I'm convinced SC will have a more productive offense than will UGA by the time we meet for Game 2 this season and we're going to move the ball and score on Geoegia. We're also at home. If we are scoring ... it'll be lights out because the Billy Brice crowd will go nuts.
If this game ends-up a defensive slugfest then that'll favor Georgia even though both teams will field fairly staunch defenses this year. Both have questions in their secondaries.
Both teams will be very good on Special Teams this year. Both teams will be well coached.
SC losing Hurst is one thing, and getting Deebo back is another ... but we were loaded at TE last year and we have several good ones taking over where Hurst left off. Let's not forget, SC has always had good TEs and put a lot of them in the NFL over the years. What do we have now ... 3? 4? TEs in the NFL? I'm not sure I'd have to look but I know Hurst, Cook, and I'm forgetting one or two. We have depth at the position with SRs Jacob August and K.C. Crosby. JT Keil Pollard and Kyle Markway are very experienced. Super Soph Evan Hinson saw some snaps last season (he also plays basketball for Frank Martin and is probably the most athletically gifted human being in the state right now). RFr Will Register is just a stud. Plus we've got big time BIG WRs, TE size, as well.
Skai Moore at LB is a loss but UGA lost Roquan (was that his name, am I remembering that correctly?)
This game is going to hinge more on RBs (UGA has the talent advantage but SC is plenty loaded there, and deep and more experienced and SC didn't lose the Chemistry UGA did with the loss of their two backs), and then at QB I'm calling that a push between the two QBs ... but the battle to really watch will be on the OLines. It's gonna be hot and it's gonna be smashmouth so whichever of these two OLines wins their respective battle in the trenches ... that's the team that will win this game.

Good analysis...the LSU coach when we won in 1994 was Curley Hallman I believe

I agree. I was born in baton Rouge and was raised a LSU fan. The first college football game I went to was LSU/Alabama back in the 70's, so I always look forward to a game with LSU. It will be tough going to BTR.
quote:Again, we agree. If anybody is going to spoil our year this year, it very well could be South Carolina. We get them early, and they always play us tough at South Carolina. Them getting Deebo back this year makes them that much more dangerous. Should be a slugfest.

You play more at Williams Brice. 03 and 08 are the only games you’ve played at tiger stadium this century I believe, going 1-1. What’s your record at Williams Brice?
