Not a flame post. Honest.

I just can’t recall a lame duck coach being declared in October, and him riding out the season. I can’t imagine what the players are thinking, but curious how fans consider this.

I expect you would still want to win, especially since you don’t have to sandbag for a coaching change. That being said, the missing element of, for lack of a better phrase, building a program just seems like it would be weird.

Survival
Minimal damage to recruiting as possible at this point
New hire in place as soon as possible
See at the very least, physical play and effort and try not get embarrassed.

I mean A&M fans should know the mindset. Let’s not act like you guys have embodied a program in a dynasty run. You fired your coach 3 or 4 years ago. Aggies haven’t even made it to Atlanta yet. Please this season is a wash looking for a leader to put us back on track. The same person that led your coaching search is leading ours.

Same thing for Texas A&M, serious question
What is the mindset for Fisher and the program after losing to Ark and Miss St and effectively making the season irrelevant in a year when you got the Tide?

Wasn't last season a wash too? How many seasons are a wash before the program becomes a wash?

For me:
Zero expectations the rest of the season
Happy for any wins
Apathy towards any losses
Wait for incoming staff before I start really caring again

We could have 35 more seasons be a “wash” and we’d still have a more recent national title than UGA.

Me personally, I think it’s a few things:

1. Watch potential replacement coaches work.
2. Hope the team can be competitive.
3. Continue to recruit high despite the turmoil.
4. Upset someone.

Focusing on other fall activities, at least those allowed to happen under the reign of Destroya and Roberto. If a road game is on tv, I might watch it. If there's a home game, I might go if it doesn't conflict with something else I want to do and I can snag a cheap ticket.

Basically, I know the season is over, the coaching regime is over, and there's nothing left to do but watch it continue to fizzle out and speculate about who the next patsy_I mean coach will be.

All programs go through this from time to time. Alabama is not too far from going through the same thing.

We still have more talent than 98% of other teams out there. We just need coaches who actually know how to coach. Our upswing should be pretty rapid as long as Woodward makes a somewhat decent hire.

After all, we won it all with our last two idiot coaches.

Hunker down, get through it and hire a new coach. The second the LSU has been in this situation before and came out of it with national championships. We got this...

After Arkansas, we needed to see progress with the players on the field. We didn't see it with Miss St, but since then, they are playing up to and exceeding expectations.

We want a strong finish, but I don't think anyone expects us to win out. No embarrassing loses and drop no more than 2 more. That will be considered progress.

Just watch the rest of the games with no expectations. Expecting a bloodbath in Tuscaloosa in 2 weeks. Hopefully we can upset one of A&M or Arkansas but not really expecting it, just don't lose to ULM who has been scrappy this year. Otherwise just watch other games across the rest of the CFB landscape and just enjoy football as a fan of the sport. Await announcement of the next coach.

Basically it
