Do y'all really want Franklin.... he tends to always lose a game or two he shouldn't and he reminds me of a worse version of CMR. He can't win the big game

No.

I'd rather take a gamble with Napier or Aranda than someone like Franklin.

I’m not a Tiger ...

... but in all fairness, that could probably be said for most (all?) coaches.

Racist, IMO.

The guy was able to win at Vanderbilt and knows the southeast recruiting area. Imagine what he could do being able to recruit Louisiana and Texas. I think he would be a great hire.

Wouldn't hate it, but not near the top of my list. That's the thing. There are tons of candidates this year that I'm ok with, but unless we could pull a fairly unrealistic coup with Riley, there's no candidates I really love.

I’d take him Over what we currently have in a heart beat, but I’m not so sure he’s my top, ultimate pick.

After the CEO Model I really want a coach that is elite at 1 side of the ball so you really only ever have to worry about replacing one coordinator at a time.

Franklin may be a really good hire for LSU with that talent pool. Maybe I put too much stock in what he did with Vandy though.

PSU fans are having serious discussions on their board about wanting him gone. It may work out for everyone.

No, Napier is my 1st and Tucker is my 2nd based on realistic chances to get coaches. I just do not like Franklin's style of football.

They're stuck in the Joe Pa glory days. That Penn State is gone.

You mean, would I prefer a coach who isn't an embarrassment off the field and actually won at Vanderbilt and would have greater talent than he does now? Yes. I think I'll take a chance.

I really don't get the appeal of Franklin. He's not elite at really anything. He's very good at recruiting, but LSU will recruit no matter who is the head coach. He doesn't stand out as an elite X's and O's guy. And he is a shite bag of a person.

And he whines a lot.

Franklin wouldn't be a bad hire at all, but I just don’t like his offenses. He needs to find someone a lot more innovative. Penn State games are only fun because they let inferior opponents hang around too long (which is classic LSU ). I don’t think he should be the guy though

His offense is definitely not what LSU is used to lately. Would be kind of funny since LSU fans give us so much crap about Fisher's offense.

He doesn’t light my fire.

For me:

Tier 1:
Riley
Fickell
Tomlin ( )

Tier 1.5:
Kiffin (but yikes that defense…)

Tier 2:
Napier
Aranda

Tier 3: Really don’t want but they keep getting mentioned
Franklin
Jimbo
Tucker

Don't worry you might get your wish.... after Ohio State puts a big whooping on PSU this weekend Penn State fans will want him gone and he'll want a change. Guy is a real good recruiter but something is off and I don't know if it is x's and o's or motivational concerns. There is something lacking there and it has pretty much been there his entire time at PSU. If you want him you can have him. You just don't lose at home to a team like Illinois...you just don't. He is an average to good coach to me, certainly not elite.

I'm totally with you there but only on the first 2. Tomlin is totally unrealistic as Tomlin is an NFL guy through and through. ..... Riley is possible, but overwhelmingly improbable. It's a lateral move for him.... Fickell is a guy who "Is a different dude. Tough as hell and checks all the boxes but extremely loyal and a classy guy.
