We really don’t know how good either team is until they both play someone else really good. Oklahoma will test them for sure. Just curious if y’all think they are on Bama’s or Georgia’s level this season.

Texas is on par with Auburn IMO. We will have to play a whole bunch better on D to beat Alabama and Georgia

By this logic no one has any idea how good any team is.

They gave us a good game. So I would say they are really good as well.

We really won't even know after that until the good teams they play play someone good. But then the good teams that played the good team that played LSU and/or Texas, who of course played each other, must then play someone else good to get a really solid idea of how good Texas and LSU are.

Or we can just be honest and say we won't know how good Texas is until they lose, so we can finally say "see I told you they weren't good."

Texas just held Chuba to 3.3 ypc. I was impressed with that. I keep hearing that their defense sucks.

Wait, LSU and Texas each have to play another top 10 team, but Georgia gets a pass with just the one and Alabama none?

They'll probably lose to OU, but I wouldn't point to that as them being overrated. OU is pretty badass.

Is LSU not a top 10 team?

Overrated is probably too strong of a phrase. But we need to pump the brakes when we make them out to be world beaters. The reality is our remaining SEC schedule makes or breaks us for the CFP. Texas will have absolutely no impact on that whatsoever.

Their ranking right now is pretty close to where they really are. Maybe slightly higher.

They would probably beat Florida and Notre Dame. Maybe.....

I think (and I have watched some Oklahoma games) Texas' D is better than Oklahoma's D. I don't think Oklahoma is going to stop Texas from scoring very much, and I think Texas will be able to slow Oklahoma's offense more than some think. I would pick Texas straight up. jmo.

Not a LSU fan but I agree with this. I think both Texas and LSU are really good offensive teams. Though not what they were, LSU defense was the difference in that game, and I think LSU's defense will improve as injured players recover. OU is similar to last year but has improved on defense. Not a good defense, just not horrible like last year. In other words the biggest difference between LSU and the two BIg 12 contenders is LSU's defense. As bad as it has been at times, it is still better than any in the Big 12.
