Is this the best LSU team you've ever seen?

Let's try to avoid "wait-and-see" approaches. Go out on a limb based on available evidence.

Certainly by far best offense we've ever seen at LSU.

This offense with the 2011 defense would be unstoppable.

I think it would be difficult to reasonably disagree with this.

It’s not going out on a limb at all to say this is the best LSU offense in history. They’re breaking records seemingly every week.

I don't know. I've always been a fan of the "old man football". Probably because that's what my teams have done for most of my life. I think the 2011 9-6 win over Bama is one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. One missed or broken tackle can decide the game. That's pressure.

Having said that, I'm enjoying the he'll out of the 2019 Tigers but it's unfamiliar territory for me. I'm somewhat uncomfortable with relying on one guy as much as we're relying on Burrow. But he's not your run of mill guy either.

Sure, but that wasn't the question. Which team would you take?

Had a convo with a friend about this the other day.

I would put them ahead of 2007 but behind 03, 06, and 11. At least in terms of what I’ve seen. Old timers will tell you 58, 62, 69, and 87 are in the mix as well.

Somewhat depends on who we’re playing. It’s close but I’d give 2011 a slight edge as of now. 2019 still has room to move up or down obviously.

No.

Offense is best I’ve ever seen.

Defense sucks. It’s a bad defense. No need to sugarcoat it.

Actually, this years team and 2011 both have a 24 point differential vs opponents. Just going about it in a different way LOL.

Both teams are beating their opponents by an average of 3+ scores!

2011 vs 2019 I would take 2019. No defense has been able to stop them at this point.

2006 might still be the most talented team we’ve ever had, offense just didn’t deliver vs Florida and Auburn (thanks Jimbo)

No, they aren’t great but they’re better than they showed yesterday & have made plays when needed in big spots all year long.

Biggest legit gripe is it seems Aranda struggles to get to a plan b or make adjustments on the fly. We usually have a pretty decent first half but get shredded in the 2nd half.

I think it remains to be seen...I'm 51, LSU football consciousness dates to mid '70's. I always thought 2011 team was the best LSU team ever; This team may top it, difficult to say because 2011 Defense was generational (in large part due to one of the one or two best LSU players to ever don an LSU uni in #7 Tyrann Mathieu) and offense was opportunistic but challenged and got exposed at the very last moment. This year, offense is generational (in large part due to one of the best LSU players to don an LSU uni in #9 Joe Burrow) and defense is opportunistic but challenged and without the depth of really, really good players the 2011 team had on that side of the ball. It goes without saying, that if we win it all, this team unquestionably goes down as best LSU team ever.
