LSU folks - who should we look out for next year to fill the roles of the guys who are heading to the NFL?

Damn. This kind of feels a little like the 98 Marlins (year after the 'ship in 97).

Well you guys know what it’s like to have to replace guys better than anyone. We will just have to see what happens

Absolutely - and like us you guys have dudes waiting in the wings. Just curious who they are.
I know from this year that Brooks, Clark, Flott and Hampton played a lot and had good moments. Who is the next pass rusher? The incoming freshman Webb has some insane pass rush film.

Look out for Marcel Brooks to have a breakout year. Former 5 star, true freshman. Can be versatile in the way that Isaiah Simmons was

The Dline and DB positions will be filled without much dropoff.
The LB corps is getting gutted though.

fulton will be replaced by Cardale Flott and Elias Ricks
ILB will be Damone Clark and Micah Baskerville
Chassion will be replaced by Marcel Brooks
Lawrence will be replaced by Apu Ika
I don't expect a ton of drop off on defense

DBs are solid with Mo Hampton looking good and Todd Harris was a starting Safety before he got hurt.
LB's - Damone Clark and Micah Baskerville both got some really good playing time during the year. I know Clark was pushing Queen for the starting spot for a while.
Andre Anthony is expected to be the rush end but Marcel Brooks can do a little bit of everything there. Also incoming freshman BJ Ojulari and Phillip Webb should get some playing time there.
DL - Glen Logan, Neil Farrell, and Tyler Shelvin are all coming back so we should not really drop off there.
All in all I actually believe our defense will be better than this years past defense to be quite honest.

Yeah the depth is really solid there. I just don't remember the last time LSU lost every starting linebacker.

The defensive line will be ridiculous next year. Fehoko and Lawrence were good, but the dudes we have coming back are better.
LBs are going to be the question. Hopefully Sampah can come in and give some good reps.
The secondary will reload as always. Plus, one side of the field is locked down for two more years with Stingley.

LSU played so many guys in the first 8 games with injuries it is crazy. Chassion was hurt first half
Numbers 35, 9, 5, 3, 72,92, 24, 35 are all great players. Including incoming DTs Defense will be just fine.
The only thing concerning is will Raymond and Busch stay. Coaches

I like the replacement options for Fulton at CB. Kristian has his ups and downs this year.
Everywhere else should be better. LBs weren’t a strength this year. Queen and Chaisson came on late. Phillips was a run stopper who badly struggled in coverage.
DL next year will be elite.
The only question mark is who Ed picks for DC.

A unit replacing 4 starters will be better?
That'd be something

Well i think our Dline will be fine with Shelvin, Logan, Farrell and Ika returning.
Damone Clark will be the top LB. Lots of young guys will play at LB
CB and S will be good. Stevens and Harris are staying. Also Lewis and Monroe.
Flott and ward played a ton at CB and Vincent is returning as well as teh best DB in teh country DSJr.

The LBs won't be better, the dline could be though. The secondary will be close to a push.

We’ll see soon enough.
Good thing there is a parade tomorrow.

Damone Clark will definitely start at Inside Linebacker. Played a ton this year and look good. Marcel Brooks should start at outside linebacker, played a lot as a freshman this year and got pressure alot.
The biggest losses on defense are definitely all the linebackers. We are losing our 4 starters but all the backups played a lot this year, should experience a drop off but not a big one.
We have Todd Harris coming back at Safety, he was injured early in the season and missed the whole year.
On paper it seems bad but most of our backups got a lot of playtime this year due to injuries/suspensions.

Marcel Brooks and Mo Hampton stepping up will be vital. Incoming freshman Jacobian Guillory is a monster and will push for PT from day one. Dude was in the backfield every play at the UA All American game. Our LB corps will really need to step up after losing Queen and Phillips to the draft along with Mike Divinity. Jacoby Stevens coming back is huge. Flott looked good this year and will probably start opposite of Stingley. DL will be a strength with Shelvin and a few others returning. Really excited about Guillory.
