I was looking into the history of the SEC and stumbled across this little gold nugget of information. The irony here is unbelievable.
Quote:
He stewarded the conference until 1945, with a gap of a few years between him and the conference’s second commissioner, former LSU coach Bernie Moore. In 1948, Moore took over the job. He moved the conference’s offices to Birmingham, Ala., where they still are today.

Hmm. It didn't say where they moved from, just to Birmingham.

It is a problem and reality that we should now rectify.

The funny part of that is that's the average IQ of the Rantard conspiracy theorist.

If it's a problem then why the hell won't the SEC Presidents stand up and dictate a relocation?

I think it was originally in Jackson.

The office of the commissioner was formed in 1940 in Jackson
due to the great amount of detail work developing, especially in
recruiting and eligibility. Former Mississippi Governor Martin S.
Conner took office as commissioner Aug. 21, 1940. Conner later
became ill and the secretary of the conference, Dean N.W. Dougherty
of Tennessee, served as acting commissioner during the fall of 1946.
The office moved to Birmingham with the appointing of Bernie
H. Moore as the second full-time commissioner on Feb. 21, 1948.
Moore, a former LSU coach, guided the SEC to national respect in
his 18-year tenure
Jackson, Mississippi was the original location of the SEC offices.

It can move back to Jackson, no big deal. I don't really care since they moved the game to Atlanta, maybe it should be in Atlanta. It doesn't matter to me. A lot of LSU fans will complain about Bama privilege no matter where it is. It wouldn't change a thing.

I think it should be moved to Atlanta as well.

If there was a big conspiracy against the rest of the league then the SECCG would have never been moved from Birmingham.

I think it was moved there because it was centrally located. Just out of convenience for the schools who send reps there. The whole Bama privilege thing is in the head of some fans, not the representatives of the universities. They go and vote and know better. If there was some kind of conspiracy, where the offices are located wouldn't change a thing. The only thing more ignorant than claiming biased out of the SEC offices, is thinking anything would change if you moved the offices.

AMEN! You don't ever seem to hear the whining but from disgruntled fans scrambling for excuses why their team can't beat Bama.

Move the SEC HQ to Denver, CO and only hire Westerners to be refs/replay officials.

If you're so certain about your lame-arse, tin foil hat, Bama-biased SEC theories, quit bitching about it on forums and instead flood your university presidents and ADs with emails, letters and petitions imploring them to do something about it. Do it. Get started today.

You are probably right about the complaining, but, I think the officiating offices should be moved to a city with not a lot of SEC influence like Memphis and have the head of officials be a retired NFL referee. That way you could remove any appearance and then shut people up. Probably would not change a thing though....the refs do tend to get it right
