Obviously crickets but did not know that. His reported response when the coach pleaded with him to let the truth come out was "it's not about the truth anymore"...No wonder LSU fans despise and don't trust the guy and how is he still working. He did not "make a mistake" there. He is the mistake.

The guy has been at LSU for several years now. Did you just learn how to read an got all butthurt all of a sudden over what transpired at Duke?

Don't worry. LSU fans think he's a piece of shite over this too.

Your response is strange sir. As I said I had no clue. It's just shocking that a major state institution would hire him. Of course you can't fire the guy now since the school was well aware when they hired him. Like shutting the gate after the horse runs off. But it does explain some things about the fan distrust of him.

May even explain some difficulty hiring a big time football coach after Miles. Ed O may save that sit however. Coaches in a good spot already are reluctant to go to work for a guy they think may turn on them to cover their butt.

The big boosters and the administration along with the national media criminalized the kids to a point where fielding a team for that year was putting the players at an enormous risk. Also at the time Duke did not have a true PR department to help with these types of situations so you add all that up together and it put Joe in an impossible spot. Having said that he handled it very badly on a PR standpoint

You won’t find many LSU fans that disagree. With that said, this is super old news and he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

I've never paid much attention to it because it happened 13 years ago.

I did go and read about it now. It was a dumbass move to put all of his eggs in one basket that a stripper/prostitute was carrying.

I'm sure the media was pouring gas on the fire and they felt rushed to act quickly in order to protect the reputation of the university.

One of the biggest travesties about Aleva is that he is a pansy arse that is championing the cause to stay at only 8 SEC games.

Well our University President is just as Stupid, so we got that going for us. If LSU was smart they would have canned Alleva and F. King years ago.

The reactions by the Duke faculty members reminded me of farmers with pitchforks marching against Frankenstein.

Yeah total coward and immoral move on his part with what he did at Duke. He needed a job and no one would hire him. LSU was near bankruptcy so you can’t really blame LSU for doing what they could to make ends meet during rough times. I expect one day he will end up at his dream job Missouri, a place more welcoming to his ideas and goals.

Not true. It was a bad hire, then the new chancellor at LSU is a liberal douche so he likes alleva.

Not really. It was an overzealous DA and a faculty that went so far as to take out an ad in the paper saying they knew the kids were guilty because they were white and from wealthy families.

The 30/30 about the case is very good. Alleva is a douchebag for throwing those kids and program under the bus.
