Firing their most successful coach in history 4 games into the season only a year after wanting to fire him but not being able to find a replacement, even though they made it very public.

He did say he would change the offense and allow his playmakers to excel. He did not do that. If your boss says you need to do a better job and then you don't you get fired.

Considering the moronic $12 million buyout Barnhart gave Stoops I'd say we're in no position to call others a laughingstock. They mismanaged the hell out of this thing but at least they're willing to pull the trigger, pay the money, show they're serious about winning big, and hunt down their big hire.

It's a totally different era for the old school people out there. In the win now SEC and the media era, it's very tough. If you look bad in one or two games, people will be howling over it even if you're generally a successful team.

Les is quite entertaining, and a solid coach. I would agree though, he does make some questionable decisions, but everyone is a Sunday morning quarterback who can think of lots of options the next day.
What's funny to me is that they are doing this now before 1/3 of the season is over. What does that accomplish other than let coaches know that LSU administration is pretty unstable.
