How does that compare to CBS / NBC / ABC?

Lets make sure we are comparing apples to apples and not apples to oranges. The OP is correct, we are talking about ESPN games. Not the CBS 2:30 slot, which is a prime slot to have given the competition CBS has at that time vs. ESPN and ABC. Under the new SEC contract, that 2:30 slot will be an SEC game.
LSU vs. Bama had to go against Notre Dame and Clemson in primetime on NBC and also Miami vs. FSU on ABC, which turned out to be a blowout, but that game still draws viewers and likely had lots of the Florida market watching it.
Yes, the CBS 2:30 UGA/TENN game had more viewers than the LSU/Bama 6:00 PM game. But they re not really directly comparable wouldn't u agree?

My bad. You are absolutely correct. My only excuse is I am very old, and feeble man.

Yes. Y'all are correct. Mea culpa. I apologize.

Stephen never stopped believing.
Proud of you, man.
In a Special Olympics sort of way, but still proud.

The viewership for these three games combined didn’t add up to UGA/TN.

UT v UGA 13 million
LSU v Alabama 7.6 million
Notre Dame v Clemson 10.067 million
FSU v Miami 5.97 million
what are you talking about?
The Tennessee/UGA game was a #1 v #2 matchup in a time slot with no other competition. I hope it had good ratings. What it didn't have, though, was better ratings than those other three games combined, not even close. Or maybe you meant to say about 1/2 the viewers of the other three combined because that would be accurate

People with nothing but a coat hanger can get a broadcast signal. It'll always be bigger than cable.

CBS, ABC, and NBC numbers would've been higher. Remember, EVERYONE has those channels, they're free.
ESPN numbers are typically lower no matter the teams due to it's in less homes since you have to pay for it. We live in an age where MANY have cut the cord and aren't paying for many streaming services.

How do they really know the number of people watching? Are these just estimates? If I'm watching 2 games at the same time do they both get counted? If I'm at a bar watching does that get counted?
