Plot the states by both obesity and education. I’m sure the curves will have opposite slopes and intersect at the middle. (Refer to your high school geometry textbooks you used to doodle in, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama people.)

That’s some really impressive math considering Alabama is dead last in education.

But not dead last overall.

In order to determine the fattest cities in America, WalletHub compared 100 of the most populated U.S. metro areas across three key dimensions: 1) Obesity & Overweight, 2) Health Consequences and 3) Food & Fitness.

Most SEC towns would not qualify

As far as percentage of fatties, I’m sure small southern towns would dominate this list. Baton Rouge has some fatties for sure but it doesn’t strike me as the third most obese city in the country. Also these dumb arguments about which deep south states are the shittiest is like arguing over which kid is the smartest on the short bus.

The metro areas at least have stuff to do...parks, recreation centers, high school athletics offering a lot more than just the 3 major sports, etc.

If you examine the per capital obesity rate in small Southern towns, it’s got to be approaching 80 percent.

I expected both to be in the top 25. We consume too much BBQ, TRavs, and beer.

Louisiana

In particular South Louisiana that includes New Orleans

Has the best food on the planet

Also the most beautiful women on the planet

That’s why we don’t eat white gravy (what the frick is that?)

Flour and water that isn’t cooked.

And we don’t need to frick our sisters.

So, that’s where the marginal increase in calorie burning for Alabamians comes from.

They clearly didn't analyze Greensboro, Alabama or Selma, Alabama where even 60% of kindergartners are morbidly obese.

I want to make a joke about crossdressers, as one comedian put it:

"New Orleans, where the women are women and so are the men."

I don't trust this to NOT turn into some poliboard level dipshittery though, so I will just share the thought with this for context.
