Having lived in B'ham for several years, that ranking seems low

I was pleasantly surprised that Alabama didn’t have a single city ranked in the Top 5.

The only huge (hehe) surprise is Lafayette being so high. Everyone I know there is in pretty good shape and certainly know more about nutrition than your typical squidbilly. Also Lafayette seems to have a strong fitness culture for a southern city with the stereotype of so many juiced meatheads running around the area

Baton Rouge certainly isn’t a fitness mecca but number three seems high too. No way BR people are collectively fatter than Jackson people, but talk about a cripple fight no matter how you spin it. All of these cities are ripe with fatties

Yep, we were squeezed out of that Top 5 because Louisiana makes up 40% of it.

I've lived coast to coast over the years, and people are fat everywhere.

These ranks like this a really kind of silly because the difference in areas is like 10-15% from the skinniest to the fattest.

For example, California is one of the skinniest. But 1/4th of the people there are fat. 26.2%

Meanwhile, Miss is #1 with 40.8%. Little under 15%. Alabama ranked #7 with 36.1%. So only a 10% difference from California to Alabama.

Personally think media bias is why they list ranks instead of %'s most of the time. They like the ranking numbers and people assume huge differences, but not really.

The south is all fat people, and everyone else isn't. Yeah, bullshite.

Kansas City and St Louis at 44 and 45th.

Classically disrespected.

That’s some really impressive math considering Alabama is dead last in education.

You can look at this list and tell why most of those cities are in there. But you can’t say it because it is racist.

Good to see no North Carolina city listed. Only one Georgia city: Augusta.

They clearly didn't analyze Greensboro, Alabama or Selma, Alabama where even 60% of kindergartners are morbidly obese.
