Sounds like Saban made the right choice.

Not shocked Nick Saban has made this move now.. Heard there was LOTS of drama inside the #Alabama program with Lane Kiffin in the past week.

quote:

"We appreciated all that Lane has done for our football program over the last three years. We sat down following the Washington game and talked about the time demands of managing both jobs, and we recogized that it is best for our players, and for Lane, that we allow him to turn his full attention to his new head coaching role at FAU," Saban said in a statement.

quote:

"This wasn't an easy decision and we appreciate the way Lane handled this in terms of doing what is best for our team. At the end of the day, both of us wanted to put our players in the best position to be successful. Obviously, we are in a unique situation here where we have our next offensive coordinator already on staff. We have full confience that Sark will step in right away and make this a smooth transition."

What drama? Why not just say what it is?

Because most likely, Kiffin was just stretched too thin and they decided it would best for him to move on especially considering Sarkisian's already been there for a while.

Drama? Sounds like saban wants joeys focus on Clemson and not FAU... UA wouldn't be in the position they are currently in without freshwater

So it's fine for him to be half heartedly in it?

Here come the Bama biased media smearing Kiffin's good name on the way out after everyone praised him all season.

I'm more intrigued by the revisionist history of Kiffin. On both sides for that matter.

And when has Kiffin had a good name to smear?

I loved the guy as OC. Was excited about the hire and enjoyed all three seasons.

He was trying to recruit lower depth players into transferring with him to FAU for the past 2 weeks. This also includes current commits. We are chasing your QB recruit Jones and Lane is too! Lol! Notice he's trying to flip the kid to FAU WHILE WORKING FOR THE SCHOOL HE IS COMMITTED TO! LINK

Dude is the ultimate slime ball.

Kiffin needs to get busy with recruiting at FAU. I suspect this was a planned move depending on the results of the Washington game. Either way, Kiffin was leaving.

Better to let Sark take over. Obviously, he was getting a little bored watching the game from the press box. #boogereater

I bet Saban kicks himself for hiring this guy

Plenty of OCs could have won a title last year with that roster

I really thought Saban was the only one who could hone Lane in

Recruiting has been n a dead period for two weeks. So how the hell has Kiffin been actively recruiting any players?

I'm happy about it. We actually have a chance to win next Monday.
