In 2017 when he transferred? In the NFL?
I would take Burrow in both. He will be a top tier NFL quarterback.

Well considering Burrow was going to be the Ohio State starter until he broke his thumb.. I would've taken him before he transferred and obviously now.

Didn't Burrow turn out to be the better QB? So if we are going back in time, who wouldn't take Burrow?

Better question:
Do you take the skins with Haskins or Burrow with the bengals?

I think so but I think it’s at least debatable. Haskins broke records too and is an nfl an. And this thread is really about how a big 10 coached fricked up more than anything.

I'm guessing you're asking if one would take Haskins or Burrow as an NFL QB?
Two schools of thought:
1. Haskins is already there. He had a decent season and demonstrated he can be at least somewhat successful at the NFL level.
2. Haskins has already hit his ceiling, while Burrow shows a lot more promise.
Personally, I would take Burrow over Haskins as an NFL QB. It'd be different if Haskins had set the world on fire his rookie season, but he might have already hit is peak. It doesn't help Haskins that there's a report out now that Redskins coaches felt he was so bad at reading the playbook that he might have been dyslexic.

This one is a lot harder to answer. The Bengals are SO bad.

No he was the back up

No
He was battling with Dwayne Haskins to be the starter and many people close to Ohio State, and on the team at the time, said Joe was going to win the starting job but got injured.

Hard to do that when Barrett was the starter...

During the off-season when JT was QB, him and Dwayne were battling for the backup. Most people on the team said he was the best QB but Urban wouldn't start a young guy over a senior.
He would've been the starter the year after if he hadn't gotten injured, but he got passed up by Dwayne Haskins due to injury.
Yeah I got the timeline messed up, but he would've started in 2018 for Ohio State had he not get injured.

It's close. Haskins has a better arm, Burrow has better footwork and downfield accuracy
Both have very high football IQs and makeup.
I would take Burrow for the intangibles and the "it" factor but Haskins is pretty solid as a prospect.

quote:Your timeline wasnt incorrect, your statement was and thats an incredible lot of speculation and Haskins was Urbs/Dyas guy in waiting. Everyone in Ohio knew that. Do you actually know any OSU boosters, players, etc...?

We've already had this thread several times.
It worked out best for everyone. The right decision was made by OSU AT THAT TIME. Burrow 2018 wasn't better than Haskins, much less Burrow 2017. Burrow 2019 was phenomenal. Who knows how it would have worked out if OSU had "taken" Burrow over Haskins - there's no way to ever know. Just let it go already. We get it. Burrow was a stud last year and LSU won the 'ship. Yay! How many "best evar?" type threads can you guys create?

Rabinowitz explained that the competition between Haskins and Burrow started long before the spring of 2018. During the 2017 season, Burrow was the backup over Haskins at first, but broke his hand earlier in the season. Haskins became the backup in his place.

Going to need to see a LOT of quotes to show that MOST people on the team said this.

We dont know this for sure.
Burrow 2018 got to LSU like a month before the season started, he had no chemistry with his teammates or coaches. Its hard to have any kind of success in a situation like that.

Its possible but the quarterback competition was still open when Burrow decided to transfer, it wasnt like they named Haskins the starter and he left.
