I was actually hoping this would happen because it only makes her and the Coots look like the bitter, sad fanbase they are. Sterk will win the lawsuit because: 1: His comments were matters of opinion, not fact, and are not actionable, and 2: Staley is a public figure and so it would have to be shown that his statements were made with actual malice in order to prevail. Bet the SEC commish is not going to like this at all after he apparently told Sterk and Tanner to shut up about it.

The SEC commissioner handled this horribly and just tried to brush it under the rug.

SC won the national championship last year and is a top 10 team this year. Dawn Staley is the coach of Team USA and one of the most prominent figures in the sport.

Don't let this thread distract you from the fact that Mizzou's football coach is Barry Odom, their basketball team just lost to Ole Miss, their women's team lost the game referenced in the lawsuit, and Missouri high school graduates are flocking to out-of-state institutions in droves.

It's a difficult suit to win, but to think it's about a jury verdict is probably shortsighted. I'm guessing Staley is filing suit to get an apology in exchange for dismissing the claim.
