Stan White, I owe you an apology. I'm sorry Stan. You aren't close to the biggest homer alive. Rodney Williams is the KING
He needs a dog or he is eaten up with BI LO Grocery store Orange LOL. There was one play where they called holding on Alabama and he was ripping Cam Robinson to shreds for not being up to the task. They show the replay and 84 tackled the guy clear as day and Stevie Wonder says it was 74.The ref calls it on 84 and Williams says trust me it was Robinson. It only got worse. Every incompletion is pass interference, it was awful. Bama downs a punt inside the one and it was close but it was the right call.
This guy goes nuts, it CLEARLY broke the plane and wasn't CLOSE, TERRIBLE CALL!
So Stan, my sincere apologies. I truly am sorry.

Doesn't every CFB team have at least one homer on the radio broadcast team?

Alabama isn't as bad as most.Sure they want Alabama to win but they pretty much call the games as they are. That guy Clemson has is the worst.
I was laughing watching 84 mugging the Clemson DE while the man assured us it was 74. He was hellbent to rip Cam Robinson and could not admit he was wrong.

Not sure you can say that when Eli gold is your pbp guy.

I sure can.Eli is not in this man's universe. Instant Replay is not Rodney Williams' friend LOL. He had a beef on a call where there was a personal foul on Rueben Foster hitting Deshawn Watson with a high forearm and he was screaming for targeting, it could have been called and likely should have been. Believe me he was griping.
Later there was a personal foul on Jalen Hurts for hands to the face. it was probably inadvertent but it was hands all in the QB's face. Williams calls that a mere brush and questionable. That was a load of BS and a good call. The man is blind.

Yeah Stan is pretty bad. Hes not bad at his job per se. He just whines so much.
I had to listen to most of the LSU game a few years ago and there was a play with Arden Key hit Sean White I think. It was called targeting and was reversed upon review. He lost his shite like it was just a clear as day blown call. So I'm furious for the rest of my drive. I get home and rewind the DVR and it was a highly suspect, borderline, at best call. After that I really started to pick up on Stan's whining.

Scott Howard is good. Eric Zeier is a total cheese dick though and I’m not saying that because I’m an Auburn fan. He came out of the womb a born cocksucker.

Boo-fricking-hoo. Any time Verne and Gary called an Alabama game, this is what everyone had to look forward to.
During the infamous 9-6 game: Verne yelling "Oh no!" after Eric Reid picked off an ill advised pass off a trick play was the icing on that cake.

Sounds like Phil Savage. Glad he doesn't do y'alls games anymore.

"It's not just 90 minutes...It's a lifetime."
Especially with tv commercial breaks and numerous stoppages in play that are standard in today's game.

I don’t really have a problem with homer radio announcers. Obviously if there is some level of objectivity and professionalism it is usually better to listen to (but not always as entertaining, see Larry Munson)
I do not like stadium PA announcers who act like cheerleaders though. That crap started at small schools but now even Alabama has their PA guy leading a first down cheer (Ole Miss is terrible about this as well). Anyhow, just my opinion.
Stadium experience has gotten so contrived with the piped in music and Jumbotron garbage (which exists in part because of the endless commercial breaks).

Eli is hardly an over the top homer. I mean not even close

Eli isn’t over the top at all. He’s a pretty professional radio guy in this conference. He’s just terrible at describing what is happening with much clarity.

Eli is Eli. He is what he is and we love the guy, even if he's more of a pure announcer and not really a football man.
Larry Munson was kind of an institution so you had to overlook him.
Rodney Williams though..bellowing for a PI call when the only contact was the Clemson receiver pushing off with both hands and the replay shows it no question...he sees things that didn't happen. If you were listening to it on radio only you sure as hell didn't get an accurate picture of the game.
