List includes OU and Texas.

Nationally, USC leads all schools with 8 (1 vacated reduced to 7; however, reports are that Bush's Heisman win will be restored) followed by Notre Dame, Ohio State and Oklahoma with 7.

Players from 40 different schools have won the Heisman while 19 schools have more than 1 trophy.

Conspicuously missing from the SEC list is Tennessee....no Heismans, nada, zilch, not nary a one. Oh, well.

Except for the 30s, a winner every decade. Quite impressive.

It’s insane to me that Oklahoma has had 4 Heisman winning QBs in the past 20 years and hasn’t won a single national title

Started in 1935

Original SEC years
1942 Frank Sinkwich @ Georgia
1959 Billy Cannon @ LSU
1966 Steve Spurrier @ Florida
1971 Pat Sullivan @ Auburn
1982 Herschel Walker @ Georgia
1985 Bo Jackson @ Auburn

Realigned SEC years (AR + SC + TAMU + MU + OU + Utx)
1996 Danny Wuerffel @ Florida
2007 Tim Tebow @ Florida
2009 Mark Ingram @ Alabama
2010 Cam Newton @ Auburn
2012 Johnny Manziel @ Texas A&M
2015 Derrick Henry @ Alabama
2019 Joe Burrow @ LSU
2020 DeVonta Smith @ Alabama
2021 Bryce Young @ Alabama

Hard for me to take the Heisman seriously when it took Alabama almost 100 years to get their first winner and Tennessee still has not won.

Not really

It is like the B1G bragging about AAU membership but neglect they were in at the start. Part of Heisman vote is former players so the more players you have, the more votes you can get from the start.

While it wasn't impossible for southern players to win, there was a painfully obvious bias in play for Northern and West Coast schools - especially Notre Dame.

Can’t give it to him because he’s a sophomore. The very next year it was given to a sophomore. Nothing to see here for that joke of a trophy.

Many are too young to remember when that honor became a joke.

For me it started when Archie griffin got it twice. Never been done before so why not, deserved or not.

Look if any SEC fan base has a beef about a player from that school being highway robbed out of the HT then it has to be Tennessee fans. Peyton Manning was totally robbed out of the HT. This is coming from a Bama fan. I have no special love for Tennessee but Manning was totally robbed out of the HT and Tennessee fans can piss and moan about it forever and I would give them a pass. Tennessee fans have way more to bitch about than UGA fans do about Stetson.

The fact he wasn't invited this year was an absolute joke. What he did for that team, despite dog shite coaching and supporting cast, was absolutely incredible

I mean...Alabama was not really known for its transformative football players. We had good players but until Saban came there were few years where we had a truly dominate athlete worthy of Heisman consideration:

Shaun Alexander (1999) - 7th
Jay Barker (1994) - 5th
David Palmer (1993) - 3rd
Eric Curry (1992) - 10th
Derrick Thomas (1988) - 10th
Bobby Humphrey (1987) - 10th
Cornelius Bennett (1986) - 7th
Walter Lewis (1983) - 9th
Steadman Shealey (1979) - 10th
Terry Davis (1972) - 5th
Johnny Musso (1971) - 4th
Steve Sloan (1965) - 10th
Lee Roy Jordan (1962) - 4th
Pat Trammell (1961) - 5th
Harry Gilmer (1947) - 5th
Harry Gilmer (1945) - 5th
Joe Kilgrow (1937) - 5th

No program has had more Heisman runner-ups without having a Heisman winner than Tennessee.

1951 - Hank Lauricella
1956 - Johnny Majors
1993 - Health Shuler
1997 - Peyton Manning

Add to that during the Bear’s years, he absolutely hated individual trophies and was very vocal about it.
He repeatedly said football was a team sport and no 1 player was bigger than the team.
