ND the 3 years before Kelly: 16-21

And he had them in a national championship in less than 3 years. Holy shite, great point cock boy! What a hire!

It’s damn near impossible to go anything less than .500 at LSU (see last 2 years)

Ed O did not go less than .500.

Because of academic requirements Notre Dame can't recruit thugs with speed and good hands. FSU can and has.

Why are you melting so hard in what had been a civil thread discussing Kelly’s first few years at ND?

He'll do better at LSU than any coach has done who has ever been at South Carolina.
Lou Holtz has a D1 title. So does Suprrier.

Kelly's got them Grand Fort Rapids State Normal Institute D2 titles though, which is nice.

Notre dame was 46-40 in the 7 years before Kelly for a 0.534 win pct

They were 61-31 in his first 7 years

Seems like fairly good improvement no? Then you add the most recent 5 years and it sure looks like a coach that completely turned around a program

2010: 8-5

2012: 12-1 (vacated due to cheating, so really 0-13)
2013: 9-4 (vacated due to cheating, so really 0-13)
2014: 8-5
2015: 10-3
2016: 4-8

Kelly would've been fired at LSU after his 4th or 5th year.

At the UofSC a statue would have been erected in his honor along with a lifetime contract with this record

And still has a .702 winning percentage. What does that tell us about his more recent years there?

Something changed. Coaches do grow, you know.

The inked a deal with the ACC to play 5 ACC teams each year so their schedule got easier. Except the years they had to play Clemson it was pretty much 5 guaranteed wins each year.

Over the last 5 seasons, where Kelly went 54-9, Notre dame had the 6th hardest average strength of schedule compared to SEC teams during that stretch

Might want to find a new talking point
