You completely forget that AU had a very dominant DL and veteran OL. Something Mississippi State didn't have. It wasn't just Cam Newton, but he did play a massive role.

You can explain this ad nauseum, but some tards just can't seem to wrap their feeble minds around it.

It is dumb to rehash it. I think we would have had a chance, but most likely finished 10-2 or 11-1.

It is retarded to include Richt in some elite class above Chizik when Chiz is the one with the NC.

If Chizik has another two mediocre years in a row, then we can start calling him Coker.

Consistent trips to Atlanta, consistent strong records in the SEC. I don't think the Chiz has it in him. Time will tell! Can't wait for the season to begin.

I was watching a highlight the other dayof the 2010 season.

AU had so many close games that it really is rediculous to say without CAm, we dont will the NT.

If Darvin doesnt get his foot down against Clemson, If Byrum doesnt make his FG against UK(or OU), If Bynes doesnt get his two picks against Arky, If Washington doesnt get his pick against USCe on the last play in the endzone, If Carter and Fairley dont cause fumbles against Bama, if we dont recover the on side kick against UGA...

Guess the same people that think the only reason we won the '10 title will agree that last year's 7-5 AU team would have gone undefeated as well. I have yet to get someone to agree with that statement.

Yeah - you have me thinking too: what if Gus really IS over rated and the Chiz' offense is better this year with a big boy non high-school offense?

Auburn had much better pieces at other positions than State as well.

Where? State had a better defense- stats back it up completely- not to mention they held Cam to one of his worst games of the season. Both offensive lines were very good, and State's WR's would have looked a helluva lot better with Cam throwing to them than Relf. Auburn had Dyer, State had Ballard

State would have pulled it off just like Auburn did

Which games do you have Mizzou winning?

How is that Mizzou plays three SEC road games in a row in November?

Conversely, they have three home SEC games in a row in October.

That's one weird schedule...

Homecoming looks more like a Bon Voyage party.

ETA: I see the Aggies also have 3 SEC road games in a row and 3 SEC home games in a row. Weird scheduling quirk for this year I guess.

Muschamp: Ceiling is 5 wins. He's done nothing but assemble an all-star coordinator cast that has done nothing in college.

I bet you don't even know who our DC is or anything else about him without using the Google machine.

He's done nothing? He's recruited well. Booted some problem children, lowered our arrest tally, gotten one of the best OC candidates available at the time and hired Dillman.

That's a whole bunch of nothing you terd.

Definitely. AU was going to be pretty good anyway.

1. Saban is the top coach in the league at Bama. he has access to anything he needs to get the recruits he needs and he fields a top tier defense every year. 7 win guy

2. Miles is the ultimate players coach to a fault. he gambles and it seems to always pay off. 7 win guy.

3a. Arguable who the third best is. 10 years and another school ago, I would say that Spurrier is a 7 win guy but at USC he is a 4 or 5 win coach in the West but a 6 win guy in the East.

3b. Richt is in the same boat as Spurrier though I think he puts a better product on the field regularly than Spurrier.

3c. Chizik is better than people give him credit for. With Gus here, people claimed it was all Gus even though the Head coaches job is to surround himself with quality assistants. I would like to say that the roster is a mess but the truth is that Chizik and company should have it ironed out by now, that falls on the coach. 6 win guy.

The rest, not sure about. Mullen isn't recruiting well and I would like to say that it is due to him being at MSU but he just seems like an a-hole.

Freeze is the one that intrigues me. The way he is getting recruits to look at Ole Miss again will pay off soon enough. If he can manage a few wins this year and approach 5 or 6 wins for the year overall, he might pull in a solid class to build off of.

Dooley was thrown in a mess and managed to make it worse over a few years. He has the people to put together a really good offense this year.

Franklin is awesome but Vandy will never be much more than a pain in the arse to play and a few wins a year.

Time will tell how MU and TAMU will fair in the SEC. Missouri certainly has a chance to win more games being in the East and TAMU might be the better team and it not show.

Wrong. Not only wrong, but super wrong. Not only super wrong, but also you're a terrible poster in general.

quote:

Other than that year,

You mean, other than the year he coached an undefeated, national championship team at a school that hadn't won a nation championship since 1957? In his second year at that school? That year? You mean a dream year that very, very few coaches get to experience? That one? I see.

Chiz has never done shite

Except, you know, recruit like crazy.

quote:

and that really wasn't BECAUSE OF HIM that Auburn won it.

I guess. I mean, he didn't have nearly the tackles or touchdown catches of, say, Les Miles. But he did have fewer losses and more wins in a single season than Les has ever had in a single season. That would probably upset me, if I were an LSU fan.

We reeled in the top rated DL class in the country this past February and finished 23rd in the country per 247 sports. State currently ranks 18th in the country for this coming February

Mullen has averaged 7 wins his 1st 3 seasons with classes that had one ranked 25th and the rest in the 30's and 40's.

He averaged 7 wins with low rated classes- and is now recruiting much better that the program is turned around. He has also has shown he has made a commitment to staying in Starkville- which has undoubtedly led to better recruiting. I dont know where you people come up with your "Mullen isnt recruiting well" bullshite

State had a better defense
State had just as good of a DL as Auburn- You remember the names McPhee and Cox????

State's OL was just as good and had a 1st round draft pick on it- something Auburn didnt have

What has Spurrier done since the mid 90's?

Turned cellar-dwellar, middle of the pack South Carolina program into an SEC contender. Most wins at South Carolina last year and will become South Carolina's all time winningest coach. Gone 8-0 vs Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and Clemson last two years. East title.
