Lay played higher ranked teams in hostile environments. Bama did not.

And yet when folks point out that Henry played much tougher rush defenses than Fournette, suddenly it "doesn't count."

Face it Bama matched or exceeded LSU in two less games against all power 5 teams who played nearly full strength against Bama except for LSU who lost to 2 unranked teams when they were full strength.

Answer me this. Why is it assumed 2019 LSU couldn’t have put the same numbers in a pandemic season and an all-SEC schedule? Why are people making this an apples to apples comparison Between the seasons ? Do you retards not realize how context works?

Why does LSU have this weird inferiority complex where they feel the need to tell everyone they think their 2019 is the best? Just enjoy your natty from a year ago and be content with it.

Gonna get real annoying when every year we have a new natty champion and lsu fans are like “but remember our 2019 team, these new champions aren’t better!!!!”

I’m sure Alabama fans making a thread about 2019 LSU after every first down they got wasn’t an inferiority complex or anything. But God knows, an Aggy would let an Alabama fan frick his wife in front of him before he would call out an Alabama fan for anything.

2019 LSU was a great team, but what 2020 Bama was able to accomplish was far greater. In spite of COVID, losing key personnel to injuries, losing the coach for their big rival game, and all the distractions, Bama’s stats exceed 2019 LSU’s. I mean, all 2019 LSU had to worry about was their Children’s Hospital embezzlement payroll not drying up before the end of the season.

No that isn’t true! LSU beat 7 top ten teams, including the #6 team at their house and playing in Austin is difficult, on the way to the championship. Bama only played and beat 4.

And please don’t start with they played 10 SEC games, because they didn’t play anyone strong from the East, neither Florida or UGA during the regular season.

Also, if you extend Macs numbers out to the number of attempts burrow took you get like 5900 yards passing and ~ 60 tds. And that's with mac's numbers from 2020 not having the out of conference cupcakes inflating them

only if you are counting ranking when games were played. Lsu had 5 wins over teams that finished top 10. Bama had 4 wins against teams that finished in top 10

You've got this backwards. LSU had 5 and Bama had 4.

That's funny. First time I counted Bama's top ten wins, I missed ND.

Bama had 3 wins over the top 5. LSU had 2. Guess it depends on if you think 3 out of top 5 and 4 of top 10 is more impressive than 2 out of top 5 and 5 out of top 10. Only reason florida didn't stay in top 10 was the whole team quiting for the bowl ( course they could have still lost, but probably would not have).

It probably all evens out in the end. Someone looked up the top offenses and defenses each team played and LSU played higher ranked in both. But, at the same time, LSU had 3 cupcakes. LSU had two tough road environments but also benefited with home crowds vs Auburn and Florida. Bama didn't have a tough road game on the road at all. It wouldn't have made a difference in who won. But, could the stats have been less impressive? Who knows.

It all looks like a wash to me and both are historically amazing seasons.

I think road games are over emphasized. Home field advantage is like 3 points max. Bama tends to play better on the road anyway for whatever reason
