Ohio St bound?

If the expectations of Florida were too much why would he go to Ohio State?

That would be an awful fit IMO
For both parties

OsU would probably rather hire butch jones the intern

Ya think? I think they'd be interested in a name coach. Muschamp is known. Even though he's a bit crazy I do think he is a high character guy, something else they'd probably want after having to fire two coaches for ethical reasons.

Nah. He’ll be at LSU next year

Seems to me Muschamp and Scar are a comfortable fit.

I've been to the Shoe on several occasions ... we've got nicer facilities.
The new Football Ops building is Boom's Baby ... he gave a guided tour today and was glowing like a proud papa.
He's said over and over again this is where he plans to retire.
Ohio is flatland ... and they have no beaches and too many Quakers.
He's a Southern Boy to the bone and he loves the SEC and he's building something here. They couldn't pay him enough money to come up there.
They wouldn't even try. He's not OSU snobby enough for them. They are strange people in Columbus. My ex-has two sisters living up there we used to go visit and Boom would be miserable around the suckeyes.

I feel like expectations would be a big risk for Muschamp since many consider his job here his “last chance”
I think no matter what he will at least stick around a couple years.

Let's answer this thread like it's serious.

Muschamp probably learned his lesson the first time having to clean out the circus urbs left behind in Gainsville.

Bingo
That didn't even register with me until you posted it just now.

Spot on. No way he tries to clean up after Urban again!

I didn't think of that either.
Honestly, that completely changes my mind. I don't think he'd want any part of following Meyer again.

Personally I'd say both Mucchamp's and Smart next stop will the pros, versus another college job.
If you do a search for it, you'll find a writeup of an interview Smart gave to an Atlanta radio station.
Apparently with the way recruiting is now, college coaches, at least the ones at places like Alabama are working harder than pro coaches. Recruiting never ends, you recruit 365 days a year now virtually.
Was an interesting interview. He talked about how some kids think it's totally cool to call their recruiter at one AM just to shoot the breeze. Or to be taking your family out on the boat, and the cell phone rings and it is some five star or another.
Some people are born to it like Dabo. Others may be good at it, but one day they are just going to have had enough of it.

It’s funny you say this considering the shite we got for hiring him in the first place

Muschamp and Smart are both shining examples of guys who live for recruiting. You don't just become some of the best coaches at recruiting talent on whim. Those freaks of nature actually enjoy the process of bringing in talent. NFL coaches get to have a say in who they want, but that's no guarantee they'll get the team they need (contracts negotiations, salary caps, and divas all derail that). College football gives the coach a better shot to get his system the players it needs and all the control over the program that they want.
A coach who can constantly brings in their own top tier talent who decides to go to the pros is a lunatic. Unless they think they have something to prove X's and O's wise, there is nothing to be gained from becoming an NFL coach. It's not like the salary is any better.
Saban has already proved the merits of staying in College Football. Why be average/good in the NFL, when you can be great in College. I'd be very shocked if Muschamp or Smart ever decided to try being a pro HC.
